Dropping weight is always bad. If you lose weight you lose muscle before you lose fat. If you are solid and trim at a weight, and lose weight you lose strength.

The problem is that neither of those fighters are any good, I have not seen Hopkins Echols I, but I have seen two and Hopkins is clearly bigger than him.

Pac looks alot better than Hatton there, he only had to dehydrate about 7 lbs of water while Hatton had to drop 14 lbs of water.

With RJ it's no question, he simply lost something physically when he went back down to light heavy after beating Ruiz. What happened with Hatton is his own fault and he is a natural 140 pounder anyway. Tarver, I'm not sure. I think he was drastically overrated to begin with so Hopkins beating him easily is more a great, great fighter exposing a not as good as everyone thought fighter.

                yeah I totally agree.

The weight 135 lbs for Amir Khan was too hard to make considering his size. It made him weak.

Amir Khan was way more resilient and stronger at 140 lbs.

He hasnt faced a big puncher yet, he was also rocked by a jab as well. So I doubt if he chin will get that much better at 140 lbs.

And someone said Tarver was 240...he was really around 215-225 at the most...I remember the Countdown to Tarver-Hopkins

The only Hopkins opponents who Ive seen who were the same size as him were Taylor and Eastman.
Hopkins made his pro debut at lhw and then had another 21 fights at smw so its really not surprising to me that he was much bigger than a lot of his mw opponents.
