When Pac is held to that same standard then these debates will make more sense.

Obviously Pac still has a lower standard for simple fact that he has found people to support his decision to face Clottey instead of Mayweather. A lesser opponent that they will once again consider a great win for him. Cintron on the other hand, will just be an average win for Floyd.
But Mayweather had proven he could compete at 147, so 154 against a past prime Oscar was not unbelievable for him, a good win but not one people were shocked by. At that time Pac had one fight at lightweight, no one knew he could transition to the higher weights like he has. Floyd is no longer held to a higher standard than Pac because Pac has proven he belongs in that conversation. People support his decision to fight Clottey because Joshua Clottey is a top 5 welterweight, and a tough fight for anyone at that weight. It is a decent alternative since the fight with Mayweather fell through. Is Floyd fighting anyone like Joshua Clottey? As far as we know he isn't. Floyd hasn't fought anyone the level of a Miguel Cotto, who Pac just destroyed, or Joshua Clottey in quite a long time.

Again, Cintron would be an average win for Pac as well.

And dont give me that 30 day 24 day cutoff malarky, that dont fly in the real world. Random blood test is not an evil thing and Pac and his fans shouldn't treat it as such.
Testing isn't being treated as an "Evil" thing. The Mayweather and Associates are trying to implement this unprecedented drug testing under the veil of fair sportsmanship but in reality, they are planting seeds of su****ion and doubt into the minds of boxing fans in an attempt to destroy the Pacman's credibility as an honest champion of this sport. Their actions are clearly due in part to the extreme jealousy that the Mayweather's have of Pacquiao's successful rise as a Phenom in the sport of boxing. Manny's World Wide popularity and 'Lil Floyd's progressively unfavorable attention in this sport has given Mayweather and Associates the impetus to start this hideous "Smear Campaign" against the "Greatest Fighter" of this generation. What a shame it is to know that people in the boxing business would stoop to such lowly acts of conduct. JAT

Correction, he WAS held at a lower standard. With what he's accomplished in the last couple years, suffice it to say that Manny is now on or arguably at a higher level. If Manny was to drag a lw up to ww, I'd be just as harsh on him. With greatness, comes great expectations.

Yeah he is, Kermit Cintron perhaps, who actually may be more accomplished than Clottey. And isn't Marquez the #2 P4P fighter in the sport?

NO they are not on the same level cause no one would view Clottey or Cintron as a real threat to Floyd, but they view them as a threat to Pac. No one would of viewed Catchweight Cotto as a threat to Floyd but he was one to Pacquiao, no one viewed Hatton, Oscar, Marquez, etc...as a threat to Floyd but all 3 where seen as a threat to Pacquiao. No one views Campbell or Malignaggi as a threat to Floyd but I guarantee many would see them as a threat to Pacquiao.

So in reality maybe Pac should be judged by the same standards as Floyd but he's not cause he has convinced all of you that he is this little humble Pinoy whose just happy to fight for the people and do his best.

See Floyd doesn't play that game, he believes he is the best and he raised the standard for himself, while Pacquiao and his team lowers the standard by acting like Pac is out of his league vs dead weight, flat footed hand picked fighters.

Kermit Cintron was destroyed by Antonio Margarito. Clottey gave him a hell of a fight. Cintron is not a top 5 welter, Clottey is. Marquez was a lightweight, don't even bring him up like that fight with Mayweather was credible.

so if chad dawson beats pac does that mean anything cause pacs number 1? would you say hey pac doesnt belong at that weight class or wow! he beat the p4p number 1 that is great! is that a much better win than fighting someone in his division like pascal or hopkins? please answer so i confirm you're either ****** or a hypocrite.

ok, fine. floyd has a better resume than Pac. YET Pac's ATG status is STILL better. no matter how you flip it man, it ends up the same. LOL.
