Both should be an option.
What DEFINES Greatness... Skills Or Resume?

Matter of opinion there. You can look at resume (Buster Douglas KO Mike Tyson)
On the skills side....James Buster Douglas didn't do much after that, losing the title 8 months later.
Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., the kid got skills, weather you agree or disagree, but the resume....nobody big yet, even with 41 wins!Comment

A combination of both but because you didnt put that option there i would have to go with resume, You could have all the skills in the world but if you dont test that skills against the best available oppositon how would we know how great your skills are???Comment

I respect your opinion. but would you still feel that way if a fighter has an impressive resume with huge names, future Hall of Famers, but won them at the end of thier career??
Example....
Felix Trinidad beat Hector Camacho
Larry Holmes beat Ali
Joe Calzaghe beat Roy Jones Jr.
Floyd Mayweather beat De La Hoya
All these guys got beat at the end of thier career. common sense dictates that skill wise they wouldn't have been easily beat in thier prime.Comment

The resume is the end result and is the main criteria that determines greatness, although it is not the only one. Their Persona and how they carried themselves also are huge benefactors also. Fighters with specific tools that stand out loud and clear and capture the imagination of fans, earn brownie points.
Skills is just a mixture of tools. Example of tools are Heart, Power, speed, tenacity, reflexes, toughness, defense, etc.
There is no mold for Skills. Floyd is not the epitome of what skills are. Floyd balances a certain mix of tools that define his skills just like every other fighter on the planet.Comment
