the damage suit has been filed in court by no less than celebrated lawyer daniel petrocelli. That "it's my opinion" defense won't fly in court. He's not stating an opinion. He's stating an assertion of fact dressed up as an opinion.
Can my opinion be defamatory?
No—but merely labeling a statement as your "opinion" does not make it so. Courts look at whether a reasonable reader or listener could understand the statement as asserting a statement of verifiable fact. (A verifiable fact is one capable of being proven true or false.) This is determined in light of the context of the statement. A few courts have said that statements made in the context of an Internet bulletin board or chat room are highly likely to be opinions or hyperbole, but they do look at the remark in context to see if it's likely to be seen as a true, even if controversial, opinion ("I really hate George Lucas' new movie") rather than an assertion of fact dressed up as an opinion ("It's my opinion that Trinity is the hacker who broke into the IRS database").

manny actually called out floyd.
floyd can only say: manny can call me anytime if he wants to fyt me, he knows where i am....to that effect.
i don't believe what floyd say or what when it comes to fyting who.
do you remember the "list" of boxers floyd gave to gbp as his hit list??
he didn't honor his own list....anyway the names in the list are confidential.Comment

and why won't floydie just sign the contract??Why won't Pac just agree to it?! This should've been simple...I would understand if it was about glove size...but a simple blood test?! Are u kidding me? All you pac nutthuggers should STFU and yea I don't like Floyd either...so don't even try to get at me with that one.
he complicated everything with their unnecessary demands.
you don't know the real issues.
it is not as simple as you understand it to be....u must STFU .Comment

kudos to u, lady wt balls.....I still maintain that the Mayweather's have a sinister plan to Publicly trash the Pacman through their de****able "Smear Campaign." It's apparent that these people have absolutely no shame in creating unfounded allegations of steroid use by one of the Greatest fighters of all time.
It's my firm opinion that both Father and son are in great despair and completely jealous over the Pacman's successful rise to Fame, Glory and Honor in the sport of Boxing.
The upstaging of Floyd Jr. by Manny Pacquiao has fueled the Mayweather's desire for vengeance and it's apparent that they
are willing to "Take Down" the Fighting Pride of the Philippines by any crooked means whatsoever.
What a shame it is to know that people of such low-character are among the upper echelon of this sport. The Mayweather's complete disregard for honor and respect has left them with a tarnished image in the eyes of fans everywhere. As boxing fans, we deserve better than this. I personally will not dignify those in this sport who are not worthy of honor and praise. JAT

sowi i can't give u another green K yet.
anyway the law suit has been filed.
floyd can kiss his as* goodbye....Comment

He refused RANDOM blood testing-simple as that.If you are going to put limitations (eg. no testing 30 days before the fight, etc),then that right there is no longer random-in fact,it is a disservice to the whole drug testing. If Manny thinks this is dictating or bullying, then he doesn't deserve the privledge of fighting in an event this large and for this amount of money.Keep in mind,Manny had every aspect of his contract fulfilled, including a 10 million dollar penalty for every pound over-thats probably the largest in history. Manny is just going to have to be flexible to a degree and realize his rep is tainted until he submits legit tests.Good point. That's right. Pacquiao never refused blood testing. It is the agency and procedure that has been objected to. Gayweathers wanted to dictate and bully pacquiao on that issue. It is a set up. They created a steroid issue on manny as they presume that manny will be pinned down and will leave no choice except to submit to their demand.
I noticed there wasn't a comment about how difficult Manny is in negotiations-c'mon-you guys are actually in the belief that Mayweather is running from a fight, but Manny is running from strict drug testing...Comment

What I find so interesting over all this testing mess, is Pac has never been found to have a dirty test, nor does his physique look like a pro wrestler, or his head twice the size of what it used to be. For all the talk of mayweather being his own boss, i wonder why he hired GBP to make the fight with Pac. It's obvious they are doing a poor job, of making the fight happen. If I am Pac, there is no way in hell, I would ever agree, to have my blood taken close to a fight. If you truly understand boxing, you know it's a sport in which 99% of what occurs in the ring is mental. If he believes the drawing of the blood, close to fight night will hurt him, then no one is in position to say, he has to take the tests. We are innocent until proven guilty. The burden of proof lies with GPB, and they have no proof. Yet, when Judah was supposed to fight Mosely, an admitted user, Judah"s camp asked for a special test to be administered before the fight. GPB refused, stating, "We will only take the tests the Nevada commission requires!" This sounds like 100% hypocrisy! GPB is a detriment to boxing, because they are worse than any of the other promoters who took advantage of the fighters for years. All this B.S. from Mayweather about being his own boss, yet he's about to miss out on a chance to make 25 million. Pac can fight Malinaggi or Foreman and still make between 11-14 million. If Floyd fights Mattew Hatton, he won't make 5 million. Who the hell in the U.S. would order this fight? Also, if Mayweather SR. is so confident about pac's skills(he stated he has none) then what is the need for a test, because your son is going to beat him easily? The truth of the matter is this is the first fight Mayweather would be in, that the outcome is as unpredictable as a flip of a coin. It's a way to get out of the fight, without saying we are worried about our undefeated fighter! Finally, the Nevada Atheltic commission is as reputable, as any organization in sports. Think back to '03 when Tyson and Lewis fought,(where) in Memphis. When the hell has a major title fight been in Tennessee? Nevada turned down the fight with all of it's money, because their integrity was worth more than the money it would bring to Vegas ! They refused to license the fight, and it went to Memphis. If the NSAC does the tests, there is no need to test any further, because the truth will come out in the end. Get a good lawyer Mr. Mayweather, because you are about to be sued for millions! You think you had money problems in the past, just wait for Pac's lawyer to get a hold of you!Comment

Then again-how do we really know who is and who is not doing drugs these days, especially when there are ways to get around the testing? How do you know that this goes against Manny's character/ morals. His past actions seem to contradict his "simple religious" morals. He has been proven to be dishonest in the past, and his camp cannot even get their story spot on.Are you a "Speculation Monger?" You are in complete misunderstanding of the fact that "Simple" Filipino people like the Pacman are not into all these PED's or other Pharmaceutical steroid products that are available these days. It is not in his character nor is it his desire to use drugs in order to accomplish his amazing rise to Boxing Super Stardom.
I have made it clear that the "Smear Campaign" of the Mayweather's is a ploy to discredit the Pacman's legitimacy as a "Great and Clean" Champion. The lowly acts of Mayweather and Associates is a total disgrace to the sport of boxing.
As for Manny being a "simple" person-that's full of crap.He is entering into politics- a haven for corruption and liars.
The thing is,it's getting tougher to believe that Pacquiao is this "simple, religious, humble and honourable" man who does no wrong. If he cannot even keep simple wedding vows then how the hell should anyone rely on his character as a reference for integrity? Dishonesty exists and Manny is no exception just because both of you share the same nationality.Comment
