Right so you were up in arms about this issue, before Mayweather entered the equation?
People like you pick up causes the same day that it happens to suit there favorite fighter's agenda. I'm 29 and rocking my droid, not an eight track you presumptuous dip-****.
Yes, I was. I've been up in arms about it for two years, going on three. So up in arms I contacted and spoke to members of the NSAC directly with regards to it.
If this is all BS to hype the fight, I sure wish they could've come up with something better.. it's making Pacquiao look bad, and getting fans frustrated rather than excited.
It's "plaintiff" and in this case Mayweather is the plaintiff(complainant). In a libel case the burden of proof rests on the claimant, which is why they must hand over all documentation of "proof" to the defense, this is called "discovery".
Mayweather in this case has asserted that Pac is taking PEDs, in a court of law he will be asked to provide proof (discovery) to backup those assertions, obviously Pac has never once tested for PEDs. The case will be over in a matter of days and you're welcome for the lesson.
It will still be difficult for defendant to get damages.....just due to the plain nature of how the comments were made.
Ill give an example:
1. Manny Pac is on steroids. This is defamatory, malicious + unproven. You'd be in the **** if you said somthing like this.
2. Floyd Sr (I'll paraphrase a bit here): "That Manny Pac, he is such a small guy coming up from lower weight classes and literally dropping much bigger guys with one punch and taking their punches easily. I've been in boxing all my life, first as a fighter and now a trainer and ive never seen anything like it" In my opinion i think he might be on some supplements to be doing what he is doing.
Seperated fact from opinion and no clear identifiable malice. Much better than number 1.
3. Floyd Sr (I'll paraphrase a bit here): "That Manny Pac, he is such a small guy coming up from lower weight classes and literally dropping much bigger guys with one punch and taking their punches easily. I've been in boxing all my life, first as a fighter and now a trainer and ive never seen anything like it"
[B]I wouldn't be suprised if he was on PED's.
Even better than position 2. The problem is defamation + slander is murky water. Difficult to prove to the necessary degree to receive damages. Especially considering the accusation will have no economic efect on Pac and as they are stated in a round about way....ie my opinion, i wouldn't be surprised, i think maybe......etc etc....the malicious intent becomes harder to prove.......

Are we done here? D*ck.
You were done...oops I meant we were done the moment I responded to you.
You care about this issue so much, yet why haven't you ever brought up this issue pre-Mayweather in any discussion on this forum? If it's such an important rallying cry for you, you'd think you'd want to draw as much support as you could from within the boxing community, perhaps putting together a petition to send to various commissions, promoters and starting a grassroots efforts on behalf of your cause?
Why don't you just be honest and say you discovered this issue the same day golden boy sent out there press release?

The only thing you got is it will be over quick , it wont even happen and would be thrown out .
" In the various US states, whether by case law or legislation, there are generally several "privileges" that can get a defamation case dismissed without proceeding to trial. These include the litigation privilege, which makes statements made in the context of litigation non-actionable, and the allegedly defamatory statement being "fair comment and criticism", as it is important to society that everyone be able to comment on matters of public interest. "
Now Floyd Snr being and expert in the field of training fighters would come under " fair comment and criticsm "
Its very hard to win a defamation case , Pac has no hope in this .
You Pac fanboys are getting flogged in all this debate , your ship is sinking .

I don't like repeating myself. I've spent countless hours on this topic; have written articles on it; have spoken to members of the NSAC, fighters, trainers. Why don't you be honest and admit that you're barking up the wrong tree?
They're not changing the NSAC testing procedures. They included a clause in the contract to utilize the services of the USADA for blood testing in addition to urine testing as a precautionary measure.
Arum and team first said "Ok", then they said "But we want a cutoff date."
The USADA said they could not guarantee a cutoff date.
So team Pacquiao gets mad and wants to sue over steroid allegations.
In the meantime, Floyd has absolute no problem with the USADA testing procedures first proposed to Pacquiao, and which he himself would be undergoing.

Lololol so now "steroids" or PEDs have turned into "supplements"?
All Pac has to do is prove that his reputation and character both suffered damaged as a result of unproven allegations, started by Mayweather, which impacted the ability to get this fight signed causing him loss of revenue.
I think a judge would find in his favor and so do most of my friends(attorneys) who've participated in libel cases, the point is he has a case, which is why Golden Boy is backing off there original stance regarding Olympic Testing.

Me too... I have written countless articles, even in the days of SRR and Ali... And spoken to the ghosts of Christmas past, present and future about athletes doping to gain advantage. All people in NSAC, USADA and GBP are my friends. I even hang out with Floyd but support Pac. Floyd is a good guy. We all know that.
