But the thing is, that has to be setup. Pac can be hurt by accuracy, marquez showed that. Against guys like mayweather, youre accuracy and youre workrate is cut in half, you are dealing with quickness, pressure has always been the gameplan against floyd and its hardly ever effective in the long term. To beat mayweather if you are pac you are going to rely on combination punching, but also, i know nobody cares about this point, but i seriously need to see how pac reacts to mayweathers accuracy, because every fighter backs off mayweather at some point in the fight after dealing with what he dishes. If pac is all of the sudden gunshy to engage, itll be a problem. Mayweather isnt going to stand there and take a beating like everyone thinks.

The biggest issue i have with pac is that he has yet to show he can effectively cut off the ring. against a guy who has a longer reach and can match his QUICKNESS, not speed, but QUICKNESS, he has to show that he can apply pressure to someone not standing around trading.
you make good points and I agree that his workrate will be cut down based on the fact that the more shots he throws the easier he will be to counter. Many ppl have this bad understanding that Mayweather is feather fisted, but though he is not heavy handed, the fact that his shots are so fast and accurate equals his power.

I honestly think that if Manny is throwing a bunch of shots and not landing as much as he would like, he may get gunshy which will play into Floyd's hands.

      • sheer workrate is too much for fighters that are either old, or out of shape. floyd is neither.

also, LOL at ariza saying floyd's "best" punch is his jab.....the marquez fight was the only fight he's made a consistent effort to use it. while i think he will utilize it much the same way in this fight, floyd's straight right hand is his most dangerous punch. once he lands that consistently, it's usually an indicator that the fight is over.

stays in a defensive counter puncher stance, Manny is going to get
beat down because as I watched Manny so many times, his speed
becomes a factor when his opponents try to pressure and muscle
him leaving themselves open to be dominated by his speed. Floyd
is just different. Manny has problems with boxers, I've been wrong about
Manny 3 times because I didn't think he was capable of moving up
and dominating bigger guys and he did, more power and respect to him
BUT Floyd is a different fighter all together. Pacquiao is way to wild
for someone as accurate and patient as Floyd. Should be a great
fight but got Floyd on this one and sure this time I won't be wrong.

I wouldn't say Manny has been wild of late. He has done more "boxing" in his last 4 or 5 fights than he has in his whole career. I think this fight may be more tactical than people believe. The key for Manny is wether his speed and power will be enough, and hoping Mayweathers rust willl show. The key for Mayweather is to be better than he was against JMM. In short he needs to be PBF and not "money" may.

I think Floyd and his team have already gotten Manny, Roach, Ariza etc flustered. Against Cotto Roach got into Santiago and Cottos head a bit too much and they fell for it. That won't happen to Little Floyd, Big Floyd and Roger. When it comes to the psychological foreplay before a fight these guys are the masters. They already have Roach saying Manny will need to work on some new moves and change his style. Also the steroids abuse allegations was pure genius from Big Floyd. He's got Ariza, Roach and Manny taking this personally. PBF won't change his formula for success.

          • Ariza can give Manny all the steroids in the world! It wont make a difference. Manny is fighting any of those guys he fought before, he's fighting one of the smartest fighters that has ever boxed. Conditioning Guru my ass! You are not considered a Guru when you are giving someone steroids okay

I think you are spot on. Once this fight is 100% concrete, big floyd and roger will do everything possible to agitate Manny's team.

              • What Manny has is the ability to catch Floyd and follow up on it. Most guys who hit May either let him back away or duck away before they could add to the damage. Pac has the speed and angles to catch Floyd more than one time if he is hurt and the pressure to make him uncomfortable. Manny has to pressure all night though because Floyd adjusts and seems to be a second half fighter. If Manny can't hurt him or lets Floyd have space to work, he will lose a decision.

And what I noticed is that your being a Manny Pacquiao fan boy
and once he loses to Floyd you will not be on here posting anymore.
I bet that you won't even say anything after March 13th. I also bet
that you make Amy Winehouse look drug free. I'm not that sure
about Manny Pacquiao, so what? I don't get paid to be a professional
better. I just call it how I see it and if I'm wrong then I'm wrong.
Only groupie fans get mad at other people betting against their
favorite fighters so when the guy is wrong, they can come back
and make fun of the guy because he was wrong? Your straight
outta Lameville son. Grow up. I tell you one thing and that is
your girl friend Pac is done off on March 13th. Roach can't even
find anyone to get Manny prepared for Floyd? Laugh now but
once Manny is exposed, you won't be.
