Does what i say cut deep because its the truth?
Pac getting Cotto to fight at a catchweight is nothing. Similar to litter dropping. PBF getting people to step up two divisions is the real crime. No need to divert attention away from PBFs crimes by talking about Pac!
SRL had a catchweight as well long ago, and you know what. Its forgotten about. PBF getting his two biggest wins to step up divisions will never be forgotten.Last edited by hugh grant; 12-20-2009, 04:30 PM.

If 2 pounds, wasnt a difference, then the fight should never have been made in a catchweight, its that simple.
Now Pacquiao will have to live with the shame of beating a little, dehydrated guy.

At least Pac fought and beat Cotto. Something PBF couldnt do and cant boast. At least Pac fought Hatton at 14o and didnt ask the ref for protection. At least Pac fought JMM at JMMS strongest weight

I thought cotto was prime before the fight, but after seeing how his body looked in the first round, he looked way thinner than usual so it was obvious the catchweight helped drain him.
Ffs he started training for the fight back in july, lol....
If anything he was overtrained. Maybe that was the point of the catchweight all along.
To have cotto leave it all in the gym.

People can try and sugar-coat it all they want but the fact is Pac beat cotto at 145 for a 147 title and Boxing organisation sanction the fight...That is one of the things wrong in boxing, A fighter using his star power to restrict his opponent. It shouldnt not be allowed period and it leave a bad taste for the sport of boxing.
Its fine if people want to support it and pretend like its normal because someone else done the samething 100 years ago or 25 years ago, But it still doesnt take away the fact that something is seriously wrong when a boxer can make up his own rules and get it sanction by a legal organisation.

Any adult is welcome to discuss boxing, my reasons or opinion with me like adults, I leave the verbal abuse stuff on here to the kids
You say something is wrong with boxing when a boxer can agree to a catch weight,
but are eerily silent when gloves and ring sizes are brought into the equation.
You're stance is hypocritical in that you only choose to be selective of your criticism of how boxing matches are arranged.
You have a major problem with the 145 weights for Pac and Cotto,
but don't have the same gripe with the Chavez Pea bout.
Chalk up another high mark for the hypocrite.

What cold hard facts??? The Gloves??? the ring?? or the one where a 147 title fight was fought at 145 and sanction by the organisation??? You came in here and present a thread about Pacquiao and Cotto but then you bring Chavez and Sweet pea into it and you chalk up hypocrisy???
Ring is shared by both fighters so there isnt any advantage to either fighter, And gloves is not the samething as a boxing organisation bending his own rules to suit one boxer, Boxing has its own rules and shouldnt be bend over for anyone.
You even twist my words by saying i said "something is wrong when a fighter can agree to a catchweight" lol..
No something is wrong when a fighter can use his star power to get a 147 title fight sanctioned at 145...That is where something is wrong.. It doesnt matter if its Chavez,Pacquiao or Mayweather or De la hoya that pull that BS..facts is its wrong and its one of the things that make boxing a dirty sport behind the scene.

Its funny how the pbf lovers are whingeing so much because it was Pac, PBFs arch enemy who asked for a catchweight. Anyone else and it wouldnt even make the news.
It isnt against the law, so stop going on about it. Every human being in society looks at what the rules are and work around those rules within the law without breaking it. If it wasnt allowed, then Pac woulndnt have done it.
PBF shouldnt get credit for beating Hatton at 147 then. Because hatton made his name at 140. ANd JMM made his name at the lower weights.
We can twist this topic anyway you want it.
