But, all of a sudden Pac-Cotto fights at 145 that's a ***** move or whatever. Is just makes no sense to me. There has been catchweight fights since old school days. Nobody cared, nobody said anything about a advantages and disadvantages. But, one fight and just and really just one fighter. Now you don't like catchweights. Some of you guys make it a bigger deal than what it really is.
Good point but I think the key differences are that at 145 they were trying to take away Cotto's only real advantage which was his size where as Whitakers main advantage was his boxing. Also in the end people know Whitaker was robbed w the draw. Had Chavez won I think people would had made more excuses.

Whether the weight affect Cotto or not what is wrong is wrong, Whether they didnt force Cotto to sign the contract or not what is wrong is wrong, Whether Pacquiao would have beaten Cotto the same way doesnt divert the attention of what is wrong is wrong.

People can try and sugar-coat it all they want but the fact is Pac beat cotto at 145 for a 147 title and Boxing organisation sanction the fight...That is one of the things wrong in boxing, A fighter using his star power to restrict his opponent. It shouldnt not be allowed period and it leave a bad taste for the sport of boxing.

Its fine if people want to support it and pretend like its normal because someone else done the samething 100 years ago or 25 years ago, But it still doesnt take away the fact that something is seriously wrong when a boxer can make up his own rules and get it sanction by a legal organisation.

Fighters today still try to gain an advantage using certain gloves, particular ring sizes, having fights only in certain places, etc.

I'm guessing according to your logic, its ok though.

          If boxing is so wrong,

you can always stop watching instead of taking on the role of an abused housewife.

But, what stopped Cotto from re-dehydrating to 160? Chavez-Whitaker was just one example. I can go as back as 50yrs ago to give more examples. Catch-weights has been happening since for ever. Why make a big deal now. With just one fight.

there is just no wiggle room for you to refute it.

No i just choose to discuss with adults thats all, Kids alway resort to kiddie stuff when they dont get their way and i recognise a child from a far away when i see one.

Any adult is welcome to discuss boxing, my reasons or opinion with me like adults, I leave the verbal abuse stuff on here to the kids
