Yea but if the best Mayweather comes out then the best Whitaker would come out. And, Whitaker would still have the advantage. Alst the McGirt fight was at WW. Whitaker was prime and untouchable as a LW. Arguably top 5 all time. You can even make a small case of being the greatest. Both Whitaker and Floyd were not as good at WW as they were in the lower divisions. So there best Floyd 130-140 to Whitaker 135/140. Whitaker beats him clearly.

But, even at 147 Floyd punch output is not high. So with Whitaker defense and footword believe Floyd output might be even lower. There is no way he would be more offensive. He is a counterpuncher by nature. And, if he tried to take the lead. Whitaker will counterpunch and pot shot him to a victory.

Again I don't see it. Pernell and Mayweather (Overall) are about the same size, both aren't that hard of punchers. But I could see Mayweather throwing 60+ punches per round. Like I said, Whitaker is an underrated puncher but he doesn't hit hard enough where Mayweather is gonna give him the same respect he gave Judah. Whitaker was still a very good WW. In this match up be it 135/147...that wouldn't play much of a role in who would win.

I disagree Whitaker defense was better. Again as a LW he could not be touch. This guys schooled and embarrassed ATG... This guy went up to 154 and cleary beat a very big very strong Velazquez. Velazquez is a guy who dropped Winky Wright 5 times. Yet he couldn't really hit a small Pernell. Pernell defense was better. Now Floyd offense is a little bit better than Whitaker. But, Whitaker defense was better.

JCV beat Winky when Winky wasn't Winky but none the less, JCV ain't no pushover. Whitaker's offense was slightly better then Mayweather's in my opinion. Pernell's body attack was more precise, simply better in the inside. Defense, both equally as good. What Mayweather has is, Mayweather has the quicker hands, more power and was slightly more accurate.

IMO Whitaker never lost a fight until Trinidad. Maybe Rivera it was close...

But, that is why IMO Whitaker defense was better cuz he proved it by really schooling the best of his era...
