I still can't believe you used that STeven A interview as an example. Most the folks in that crown probaly didn't even know who Floyd was if not told. Remember, Floyd was not the headliner, just a guest (can't remember who the headliner was).

Plus, if Osacr's name did get more pub, that doesn't mean Margo was a nobody, that just needs he wasn't known by the casuals. They only make up a not so large portion of the boxing community. Plus that interview was to hype the one of Floyd's fights right?

Floyd avoided margarito for a reason.. Margarito is a bigger stronger version of castillo.. He would maul floyd just walk thru everything and abuse his ass..

Here's the thing with Carlos Baldomir...

Judah was the undisputed WW champion, and Baldomir beat him. People like to rag on Baldomir's losses, but earlier in his career he was a journeyman, and going into the Floyd fight he had not lost a fight in like somewhere around 10 years.

After gaining the lineal welterweight status, going into the Gatti fight he was not expected to just walk through him in his title defense fight. Turned out he beat Gatti in impressive fashion. He gained the right to fight Floyd; unlike Margarito who was in rebuild mode after losing to Santos.

The only thing wrong with Carlos Baldomir is that he fought Floyd. Had it been anyone else, it would have been a celebrated event.

I understand everything you are saying, but the only thing that im trying to get across is, the title Baldie had changed hands 4 times.

Margo never lost in that time. He ws also avoided by all fighters involved (that is true by the way, not some most feared propaganda).

The point was, Margo did deserve a shot at Floyd at the time he asked.

Nothing against Baldie or what he did to get in that position.

Spinks after winning the belt turned Margo down as well, Arum was doing his job. Then Zab, who has avoided Margo twice at 147 by the way. Lets not forget Baldie, who screamed after the Gatti fight "NO Margarito, NO fight Margarito"...I wounder why. He then went on to say he wanted Floyd.

Mosley actually did as well after he fought Estrada. He said he wasn't at his best and declined the fight then.
He did go after it and get it later but back then he didn't want it.
In fairness, it almost seemed like back then Mosley was on a slight downslope, then he rose back up.
