Plus, if Osacr's name did get more pub, that doesn't mean Margo was a nobody, that just needs he wasn't known by the casuals. They only make up a not so large portion of the boxing community. Plus that interview was to hype the one of Floyd's fights right?
Bro...Marg shouldve dropped that belt and got in line..........BUT HE DIDNT.

Floyd avoided margarito for a reason.. Margarito is a bigger stronger version of castillo.. He would maul floyd just walk thru everything and abuse his ass..

After gaining the lineal welterweight status, going into the Gatti fight he was not expected to just walk through him in his title defense fight. Turned out he beat Gatti in impressive fashion. He gained the right to fight Floyd; unlike Margarito who was in rebuild mode after losing to Santos.

The only thing wrong with Carlos Baldomir is that he fought Floyd. Had it been anyone else, it would have been a celebrated event.
I understand everything you are saying, but the only thing that im trying to get across is, the title Baldie had changed hands 4 times.

Margo never lost in that time. He ws also avoided by all fighters involved (that is true by the way, not some most feared propaganda).

The point was, Margo did deserve a shot at Floyd at the time he asked.

Nothing against Baldie or what he did to get in that position.

By 2006 Margarito was 6-0 against Top 10 WWs. He had the best WW resume at the time. How again was he is in rebuild mode? Or like Burner said how did Baldomir have a better resume?

I am fine with Floyd fighting Baldomir. I am ok with. It was for the lineal title. But, really lets not make Baldomir better than what he really is.

I totally blame Vernon Forrest (RIP) for that mess.

I can understand that, but you do know he was in line right? Mayorga was supposed to fight him after his fight on ****e TV, Mayorga told Don he wanted Spinks instead, so the fight fell through. Spinks after winning the belt turned Margo down as well, Arum was doing his job. Then Zab, who has avoided Margo twice at 147 by the way. Lets not forget Baldie, who screamed after the Gatti fight "NO Margarito, NO fight Margarito"...I wounder why. He then went on to say he wanted Floyd.

The fact that Margo was avoided is just that, a fact. Can't make people fight you.

To bad for Margo though, the one man that did come knocking beat him. You and I know Floyd was never going to fight him anyway, but after the Williams loss, he reall never looked back...Why should he.

Still though, the point is you said he was a nobody. That statement wasn't true Burner.

Drop what belt and in line for what?! He asked Floyd directly to fight him for $8 million when Floyd didn't had anybody next to fight.

Mosley actually did as well after he fought Estrada. He said he wasn't at his best and declined the fight then.
He did go after it and get it later but back then he didn't want it.
In fairness, it almost seemed like back then Mosley was on a slight downslope, then he rose back up.

The fact is Marg didnt do enough to earn the fight...He didnt have what Floyd wanted...The WW WBC Lineal Championship of the world.

                      Period.
