Roach wants the later date too.

"March 13 is too fast a turnaround," said Roach. "Manny has a broken [right] eardrum" suffered in his Nov. 14 TKO victory over welterweight Miguel Cotto in Las Vegas. "I'd like to have more time. I hope the fight happens, yes, but I want us to be in the best possible shape."

The 30-year-old was already breaking new ground when he beat Miguel Cotto, on November 14, to win a world title in a seventh different weight division. It was after that victory at welterweight that he said that he believed his ascent through the weights had come to a natural end. However, Roach clearly has other ideas — and Pacquiao tends to follow his advice.

“The Mayweather fight is the fight the world wants to see,” Roach said. “It’s going to be the biggest pay-per-view fight of all time. But I think we will fight one fight before that.”

Roach said that Pacquiao’s schedule will be constructed around his political ambitions and the elections in the Philippines on May 10. “But there is a March date for him to fight,” Roach said. “People think I am crazy but I want him to win his eighth title against Yuri Foreman at 154lb. That’s my idea — then fight Mayweather in September. And then retire.”

Using quotes from Roach to back Pacquioa will only make you look bad.

Sick of the bs of these two drama queens, moaning over a few million bucks while others in the world sc**** for their next meal.
HMMMMMMMMM you gave a pretty good reality check at the end.

Man, this is a far cry from Shane Mosley getting into Floyd Mayweather's face and calling him out on national TV. Maybe this aint the best and most competitive fight after all. I got caught up in the hype for a brief amount of time after Pacquiao's victory over Cotto. But Cotto had been in a lot of tough fights and that mileage on his body showed. I also think that Mosley ruined Cotto, not Margarito. Margarito finished off the ghost of him. I like Pacquiao better than Floyd, but yet I can't defend Pacquiao for what he's doing. This is what you call an obvious duck. Mayweather signed the fight, and Pacquiao won't as so much make a counter offer?

The only way I can give Pacquiao a pass for this, is his ear condition that he got from the Cotto fight. But can't he let the politics go and fight Mayweather in the spring?

Yes to Yuri no to Mayweather in March????? WTF

So Pac would fight Yuri in March but not Mayweather. Man if this was the other way around it would be called ducking right?????

If Mayweather did this it would be ducking. As EVERYONE knows Mayweather wants to fight Pac. I don't get why everyone thinks May is "ducking" when it is VERY clear as why he came out of retirement. Mayweather is willing to fight in March but not Pac? Yuri is OK but not Mayweather?

I know Roach had already said Pac wouldn't be ready to fight a fighter like Mayweather in March so maybe Roach knows Pac wont beat Mayweather. He is a smart man when it comes to boxing.... right everyone????

If Pac does fight in March or May or June against Foreman instead of Floyd then Pac is avoiding Floyd. His next fight better be against Floyd. But, if he wants to sit out until September then that is fine too.

Mayweather has not signed. Nobody has signed. He has agreed to the terms. But, Pac looks bad right now. If Pac fights in March and is not Mayweather Pac is ducking. But, if Pac sits out till September then that is fine...
