rjj vs d green proved nothing about either boxer. not enough time or action past during the fight to make a realistic judgement on either boxers future.
many will consider the punch that allbut ended the fight a freak or lucky punch, which it was.more so a freak punch as the spot it landed on (the back left hand corner of rjjs head) took his legs away, as shots to the back of the head usually do. numerous boxers have become paraplegic because of too many punches to the backof the head. r jones was very unlucky, this probobly wouldnt happen again in another 40 fights, but he let danny green get close in the first round and thats a death wish. it wasnt the fight we all wanted to see, its unfortunate that it happened to such a great boxer in roy jones, but thats boxing. i still think d green would have got the same result ( a win).this result calls for an immediete rematch.Comment

Congratulations to Danny Green. Not that I am a historian or expert, but I said in the beginning, this was going to be a very tough fight for Roy Jones. If the goal was to use this fight as a stepping stone to fight Hopkins, then it was a very dangerous decision going in. Kudos to Jr. for not taking a walk-in-the-park. But again, a very dangerous decision. Green has always been a tough fighter. He was away for a couple of years but he seems to be back in rare form.
