i would love that fight. and for those who question my experience keep in mind my amateur background and that i was with estrada, andrade, jacobs, wade, guerrero and others for most of my amateur career. who has kirkland fought to earn such big ups around here. julio? come on man julio is a blown up 147 and is slower than everything.

i voted for myself. happy thanksgiving bs

    peace and god bless
I think you have more skill, but Kirkland looks like a big dude. i like the moves you pulling in there, that smooth slip the jab right hand counter looks pretty sweet.

It's hard to say though at this stage IMO, if you could beat Kirkland. we will have to wait and see.

I think Kirkland is an accident waiting to happen, He's got one of those thinner faces, the kind that can't seem to take punches to well. a, la Tommy Hearns.

I'm surprise that he has over 40+ fights and hasn't faced a serious opponent. I'll tellin you man, considering your record, they might accept. I'd give it a shot if I were you.

funny seeing all of you talking about porter like you know much of him(some of you pacfans especially, kissing up to him). before the news briefs about his sparring ventures with pacquiao, most of you guys didnt know he existed.
where were you all praising his good performance on espn with this thread: http://www.boxingscene.com/forums/sh...t=shawn+porter

Go watch the Allen Conyers fight...

Edit: and conyers doesnt have half of shawns speed or power. but ill state it again it still doesnt meen its a sure thing.
The Conyers fight showed he can get caught by right hands, he can get caught cold, and he's resilient enough to come back from it.

Look I'm not saying Shawn would never be able to beat him. What I am saying is that at this point he's not ready for the pressure, punch output, and chin James will assuredly bring.

Vera has shown he has a really good chin after the Contender. He might not be good technically, but he was able to absorb a ton of shots and come back to knockout Lee. The thing Kirkland showed in that fight is that he could go rounds at the same pace.

Julio might be blown up, but his record says he has some pretty heavy hands. He gave Kirkland good movement, caught him with a few power shots, and tied up on the inside. He still got overwhelmed.

The way he destroys them makes him a beast in my eyes. His opp has been good for a prospect that hasn't fought for a title yet, but it's not the actual opposition. For me, it's not as much who he beats, but how he beats them.

what are you talking about he only had 4 fights at the time when he fought cory jones. right now he has 11 so your "how was any one supposed to know him" can still apply to his record. if you would have been tuning into espn that day like i did you would know him. its just funny to me reading all these people and pacquiao fans ride him but my question is how many of his fights you all seen?

porter stay up man keep doing what you do i cant wait to see you in some big fights man you got the goods and you are exciting.
