The roles had reversed by the time Pacman fought Dela Hoya, Oscar was the old vet coming down from 160 pounds to make 145. Pacman clearly won this fight but the serious boxing fans know that Oscar was a former shell of himself and seriously weight drained. I would say that the 135 pound prime version of Sweetpea beats the 126 pound prime Pacman. Sweetpea is better defensive, intelligent, fast hands and ring generalship would give him the edge. Pacman would have the edge in power, but if JMM could give Pacman hell at the lighterweight classes, then I am sure that Sweatpeas counter punching would give JMM fits.

As for resumes, Sweatpea clearly has the better resume. He beat two all time greats in Azumah Nelson and Julio Chavez in their respective primes. Pacman doesnt have anybody on his resume that is greater than those two fighters!!

    couple of things wrongs.

Oscar came down to 147 not 145.. only 1 weight class down.. while Pac moved up 2..

Pac prime is not 126.. but 147 cause he still improving and he a better fighter now..

Pac now would kill JMM... and he would beat Sweatpea in his prime...

IMO Pac needs to beat Mayweather to overtake Sweet Pea.

Whitaker is the greatest fighter post-Ray Leonard without a shadow of a doubt in my mind.

sweetpea did'nt beat hoya or jcc......you just cant add that to his resume becase you think he won......the result of the fight is what matters and not what you think.....

Maybe legacy wise he is, I wouldn't argue too much with someone saying that, but if Pac and Sweet Pea could step in a ring against each other Whitaker would probably clown him, no matter the weight.

Whitaker has the better resume. Pacquiao would have to beat Mayweather to even enter the debate.

Sweat Pea is over rated in my book. dude got knocked down easily in the beginning of his fights and he lost most of his biggest fights.

                  Pac has the better resume.

                  Won more titles.

                  Won more lineals

                  Jumped more divisions.

                  End of argument.

And to all the morons who think Pea can hold a piss against Pac's achievements...

Bert Sugar's opinion is a lot better and more valued than prolly half of all the posters here combined.

                      Prolly more.

This is the guy who has seen Robinson in action... been there and done that dude.

Pernell's resume is crap compared to Pac.

Lets not even talk about the lineals... Coz Pac literally murders him on that category.
