he should have agreed to the immediate rematch in 2004.

i think he could have definitely beaten 126 pac.

But before that happened, the NSAC would intercede.
Ok thanks, I always wondered about rematch clauses.

Arum wisely wants this clause because of Shane Mosley... Because if Floyd wins he easily negotiates a huge fight with Shane Mosley leaving Pacquiao in the dark

Yes true he was... and he was also known as a high risk/low reward. Prince blatantly ducked him. Even Emanuel admitted that he wouldn't allow Naz to fight JMM. That is why they picked Barrera. Cuz they thought he was done.

For the life of me I still don't understand why they didn't take the Pac rematch. And, then to go to Indonesia to fight for 35-75k? I don't remember but it was lil money, It was just insane. Nacho is a great trainer horrible manager. JMM is to blame as well.

Bruce Trampler is the matchmaker for Top Rank. He is the best in the sport, and has been there for a long time. Brude did a great job in matching Oscar with guys who would make DLH look great.

Bruce went against conventional wisdom and threw Floyd to the wolves early. If you look at Floyd's early schedule, it was kinda brutal. But Trampler was a big believer and he knew Floyd could handle Genaro.

However, Trampler was wrong about Pac/Cotto. He told Bob that was a 50/50 fight, and Arum was already planning out a rematch in his head. If Arum knew that it was gonna be a wipeout like that, he would not have done it.

Pac could have sold a million ppv's with someone else, and Miguel would still be viable. Now, Miguel Cotto really is a devalued commodity. That was a short-term win for Bob, but a longer-term loss.

... I'm very interested to see what kind of interest that Miguel's fight in June garners.

Yeah. that was a Shane-turns-down-oscar-to-go-fight-Winky decision.

it's because he was the champion so he felt he should get a bigger piece of the pie. he didn't want equal pay with pac.

at the time pac took whatever fight. muhammad was just throwing him up against anybody trying to milk him before his contract expires.

it wasn't his choice to fight for that amount against chris john.

he first fought victor polo. after that fight the ibf stripped him of his belt.

then he only had the wba belt left and the wba put his mandatory up for a purse bid.

he only had one bid for the fight and that's what he got stuck with. if he refused the wba would of stripped him too.

I agree about Bruce being the best matchmaker in the sport. I heard when Arum finally retires that Top Rank will be no more. Now I don't know if that is true or not. But, I think Bruce could take over and still have it as a successful company. Or maybe Bruce will start his own promotional company?

In Bruce defense... I also thought Pac-Cotto was a 50/50 fight. And, it was for the first 4 rounds. I can't see how anybody could of guessed that Pac could take Cotto punches so well and then back Cotto up. Who could see that coming? And, I don't know who else Pac could of sold a million PPV's with? JMM and Floyd was signed to fight each other. I really truly believe they could of done it with Shane. But, IMO Shane was/is more dangerous of an opponent than Cotto was. So Shane was to risky. So who else is out there that he could of done a mili with?

I think a Cotto/Margarito is a money fight. I know Cotto said he will never fight him again. But, that rematch in New York could be a PPV type of fight and possibly sale more than 500k PPV's on the weekend of the PR day parade. If he fights the like of Collazo/Castillo/Baldomir than he probably would be on the undercard of JMM-Gamboa.
