The point is Freddie Roach and Pacquiao have already conceded a 50-50 split. So what is Floyd's excuse not to make the fight happen now? Mayweather is not a bigger draw than Pacquiao is. All those people that ordered JMM's fight with Floyd were Mexican. The reason why the rematch between Pacquiao and Mayweather didn't do as good is because it was at 130. Pacquiao and Floyd are practically at the same level where generating money is concerned.

Since then his personality along with the public perception that he constantly is challenging greater hights [whilst still in his 130 lb body] have made him into a world=wide celebrity.

Far better known thanMayweather, and, most importantly, far better liked.

The fact still remains...that A Manny P fight is full of anticipated excitement.........

Maybe after the Cotto win,Manny might be the bigger draw.

But,it's not all about PPV,I mean,Manny is the champion,WBO and recognized #1 P4P.
And I think it allows Manny to ask 50 hands down.

These are excellent excuses to back up an opinion that you cannot sustain with facts. You say Manny would outdraw Mayweather 3-1, but you have no evidence to back it up. If what you are saying is true, Pac/Cotto should have sold 3 million PPV, especially since Cotto is a PPV attraction himself. You can use all the excuses and justifications you want. The facts speak for themselves. The fact is 2.2 million people paid to see Oscar fight Mayweather and 1.2 paid to see him fight Pacquaio. Oscar previous PPV before Mayweather drew 700,000. His all-time best was 1.4 million. There is no way you can justifiably say that Oscar went from 700.000 to 2.2 million because he suddenly gained an entire legion of new fans.

They are not excuses. Why would I need to make an excuse.? Thety are facts. And the facts are..........that Mayweather arenas were ALWAYS half empty, with people leaving whilst the fight was still on.

It was only when he cleverly self promoted himself, and began to fight boxing icons, and big drawing boxers, that the Mayweather numbers began to hit tops.

The facts still are that with 2 arenas side by side the Manny one would be filled to standing room only, and the Mayweather one would be half empty......unless he was fighting a good opponent who had a big fan base.

Of course these are only opinions, but firmly couched in reason and present day public perceptions.

Manny P is a world wide known superstar, and Mayweather certainly isn't.

Probably the next thing about Manny that we'll hear is an invitation to visit the pope.

This is easily believable for Manny, but for Mayweather, it's not even below the far horizon.

Team Mayweather is not Fooling anyone

First Mayweather goes on to say Mosley is not a PPV attraction-though he chooses to fight Marquez because of his fan base AKA PPV attraction, now that the fight is over and the numbers are in-he says he didn't have a dance partner in Marquez and sold all those tickets by himself (well Floyd, maybe if you stop running and actually fought back, you would have a Dance partner)- Get your story straight Floyd, you're not fooling anyone. Now they are saying that Manny Pacman Pacquiao is not a bigger star than Floyd? The only reason Mayweather sells tickets is because Boxing fans want to see him lose agaisnt a real credible, Huge fan based fighter like, Gatti, De La Hoya, Hatton, Pacquiao, etc.. It's not Mayweather's fans that are buying the tickets-it's his opponent's fans. Ellerbe can say what he wants because he is entitled to his own opinion and for marketing reasons, but Team Mayweather is not Fooling anyone.

I have some news that will shock you and all the Floyd haters on this site. If Mayweather/Pacquaio can't be made, Mosley will fight Mayweather next, not Pacquaio. Why? Because Mosley knows that he can make a hell of a lot more money fighting Mayweather than Pacquaio. And, in spite of what all of the geniuses on this site think, Mayweather is not the only one who fights for money. Mosley, Pacquaio, Cotto, Marquez and everyone else in the fight business care more about money than legacy, even if they don't say it openly like Floyd. Five million dollars means a hell of a lot more than legacy and that is how much more Mosley would get fighting Mayweather than Pacquaio.

We're talking economics here, and Floyd's resume consistently has bigger $$$$ than Manny's.

I don't want that to be an excuse to not make the fight, but it is the truth.

Mayweather is a much bigger star world wide than Pacquiao is. You'll need to stop hating on Floyd and look at the numbers. How much do you think Mayweather-Cotto would have done on PPV? Much more than 1.25mill for sure. So you can't compare the numbers of Floyd-JMM to Pac-Cotto.
