An excuse? there's no need for an excuse I was just stating the facts. Manny was fighting all small time fighters in the phillipines at that phase of his career so i'm willing to argue floyd was fighting as tough if not greater opposition in national championships and the olympics than manny was facing and with greater frequency. but lets not say that manny going from where he was at 16 to WW at 30 years of age is the same as floyd fighting in the super featherweight division at 20 and going all the way up to the SMW division at 30 because thats not a fair comparison.Comment

so just because he was on the p4p list first means he's better?
only thing that means is floyd was hyped up much earlier.
funny how a guy who was ranked so high much earlier in his career and has been hyped up by the media for far longer has a worse resume than pacquiao.
even if you think floyd has a better resume , the fact that floyd was hyped up much sooner and was a bigger name much earlier and we are debating their resumes is an embarassment to floyd.Comment

You are an idiot. Champions that are what? Baldomir? Zab?Whatever man. You can support your boy all you want, but he's never faced true champions. Ones that can really hurt him..The Pacquiao has a better resume than Mayweather comment is all hype from his wins against De La Hoya, Hatton, and Cotto. Two of those Floyd had already beat first, Cotto being underdog against a former Featherweight says it all. Imagine Mayweather being underdog against Marquez? Funny thing is Mayweather also came from the lower weights and is held to higer standards than a career 140-147 pounder in Cotto. Floyd has been fighting champions and former champions since the 90s.
This is boxingscene though, so you can't speak with logic and expect for posters to agree with you.
Oh and you think Pac is all hype because of his wins over De La Hoya, Hatton and Cotto? Those aren't his most impressive wins by the way except for the Cotto win. He's faught all the best opposition he could face at most weights and never ducked anyone.Comment

ill give you the benefit of the doubt and say you are high..................thats why you knew floyd vs the big show had to be made and floyd vs sharmba mitshell had to be madeComment

First, don't be calling Kev an idiot, he's good people. Second, while I agree Pac has fought better comp, lets not say Floyd has NEVER fought anyone who could hurt him just because nobody really has. I don't like Floyd, so don't make me defend him with a preposterous claim like this, ok?

I think the reason is cause Mayweather is a far superior fighter than Pacquiao.....so it makes Pac's fights look more exciting....Mayweather is miles beyond any fighter than he has faced or that Manny has faced....
He will suffer the same fate as RJJ....
"they say i didnt fight nobody, I just make them look like nobody"
but look at how easy Mayweather made Marquez look like he never boxed a day in his life (AND DO NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT WEIGHT)....weight doesnt enhance boxing IQ, defense or skills........
Fact is...just last year Marquez fought a bac and forth war with Pac, with Marquez landing more punches than Pac.......a year later...Mayweather fights him and doesnt get touched.....
that shows you the superiority of skill....nothing against Pac at all....But Mayweather is just a BETTER fighter with a much more versatile skillset which is why people say he hasnt fought anyone.....or hasnt been challenged..
let me ask you this...do you think the Pacquiao from 2001 that fought Lehlohonolo Ledwaba would beat the Diego Corrales from 2001 that Mayweather fought?Last edited by Jiddu Dali; 11-20-2009, 09:05 PM.Comment
