  • Just another in a long line of reasons as to why Mayweather isn't the brightest guy around. Since "money" seems to be his primary motivation over legacy, then why did he handpick Marquez as a "dance partner"?

Why not come back and hand pick someone who would generate higher PPV numbers and further add to his bank account, as he seems to be found of reminding us of on a daily basis? Either he is busy dodging fighters or is busy dodging facts.

    • this is good news for boxing and shows that it is still going strong, however on the pac floyd debate wasn't floyd's fight on the same day as a ufc event which could of affected his numbers and i'm sure it said that 110,000 of pac cotto was from puerto rico.

While the average American cannot afford the $50, many Filipinos would be willing to spend that much to watch PAC fight. I for one earn several times more than the average American. And while some Filipinos can go to their neighbor to watch, Americans cannot because their neighbor cannot afford it either. LOL!!!

Boxing is dead as a whole. Unless your name is PAC or Floyd, and that's where the problem lies. The UFC generally puts on bigger PPV#s than boxing's PPVs or so says Dana White(who the f**k knows)

Hopefully, with the current strong PPV #s from boxing's biggest stars and the Super Six tourney, this will start turnin' things around.

                    • 200 pages of circular arguments and bull**** biases.

                      The bottom line:

Juan Manuel Marquez is not on the same level as Miguel Cotto, in terms of marketability. Marquez is not capable of being apart of the promotions as much as Miguel Cotto. So YES: Mayweather is the bigger draw.

But I don't get why this is a surprise.
