    The bottom line:

Juan Manuel Marquez is not on the same level as Miguel Cotto, in terms of marketability. Marquez is not capable of being apart of the promotions as much as Miguel Cotto. So YES: Mayweather is the bigger draw.

But I don't get why this is a surprise.
    Nice sig pic!

Impressive but not conclusive in the "bigger draw" argument - in fact if anything I'd say Mayweather's Numero Uno numbers are the more impressive.
That's because too many people spent more than they should on that fight. Especially a fight that made numbers thanks to Mexican fans. Mexicans wasted all their money and had to saved for Christmas. Mayweather will do more against Manny because everyone anticipates him to get his first lost. They're just dying for him to lose. But he wouldn't be selling if he wasn't talking that much trash.

      • yeah the mexicans paid the ppv to see marquez fight FLOYD, why didn't they buy his fight with casa or pac then.....

Also ask hatton what percentage he got with pac and floyd and see the difference...

Freek sake hatton even got 50-50 with pac and bob had to pay the extra two percent out of his own pocket to make the fight happen coz hatton was gonna pull out if he didn't get 50-50, and i think im right in saying that was pacs biggest pay day.

IMO the fairest thing to do is 50-50 but if someone deverses more its Floyd maybe 55-45 or 52-48 something like no more than that though, pac defo doesn't deserve more.

like I said they want to see him lose. His zero is what makes him sell. Without it he wouldn't be talking so much. Doesn't matter right now Manny deserves and sells more. He's reach the point where he should get more money than anyone. He's the P4P King. Mayweather lost it when he refused to fight every Welterweight for two years.

mexicans from mexico don't pay to see marquez or any mexican fighters at all because over there the fights are all free....what ppv is here they get over there for free doesn't matter if it's a mexican fighting or not

                • I don't know what some of you fools are talking about. 1.25 million for two non Americas is absolutely amazing. Please tell me fights between two non Americans that have surpassed these numbers. Infact how many times have we seen over a million buys without the name Oscar or Tyson associated with it. 1.25 million is very impressive.

I'd understand Floyd wanting more before Manny fought Cotto but now, Manny SHOULD definately get more money. I mean he beat ( DECISIVELY ) the guy that Floyd didn't wan't to face.
Agreed! Floyd should take the Fight and not priced himself to high to avoid it?! His the one who said fighting Pacquiao will be easy and now it's tome to preoved it?! Let's get it on Floyd!

                    • In my opinion pacquiaos marketability goes past the ppv numbers right now. People knew about him going into the fight but ever since this destruction of a fight pac's popularity rose even more when people start talking about him as if he is an all time great, and like a little mike tyson.

Whereas when floyd won it was basically floyd beat some mexican in a boring blowout, and then everyone moved on.

I dont really care about the numbers though because fans shouldnt care about this sort of thing but im just giving my opinion.
