Stop this macho bull****, it's boring. It doesn't make you more of a man, it makes you more of a ****** to take a sustained beating and end up like a cabbage in a wheelchair.

You just need to come out and say it. Half of this forum already knows the true.
I been 1 of the only non PR cats defendin Cotto ever since the Clottey fight. I said all along the DLH win ain't convince me he was a real WW, and Cotto was too big for him, KO by 6. I **** on Pac for askin for a catchweight even tho I thought Cotto would be fine at 145. I **** on Cotto for acceptin the fight when he coulda rematched SSM for the lineal title or rematched Clottey.

Your boy lost, he's now an afterthought on here for cats who wanna talk about Pac-Mr boat buyer, and it makes you mad. Not my problem homey.

Cotto's own words were his corner talked him into keep fighting after the 10th if I'm not mistaken.

His father wanted it stopped as well.

If I'm wrong I'm wrong but I swear I heard out of Cotto's own mouth he wanted to quit.

I'm looking for the post fight video interviews but can't find it on youtube
Wrong he never said he never said such thing, that's was just your inner mexican talking.

What he wanted to say probably got lost in translation. I saw after the 11th round him saying "one more round let's finish the fight"

That's what I replied to. I am sick of this "quitter" bull****. It doesn't make you more of a man to get your face beaten so badly that you end up looking like a football.

I have said a million times I don't give a *** who wins this fight. I'm almost sure he said he wanted the fight stopped but was talked back into it.

I call it like I see it, I don't care about your obsession with Mexico vs PR or any of that bull****.

I have said nothing but good things about Cotto since he fought early on in his career. I just sear I heard him say that.

If anyone can post the post fight interview with Cotto in the ring because I can't find it anywhere on the net.

Like I said, if I'm wrong, I'm wrong, I just want to see the video for myself.

I think he did say something along the lines of stopping the fight but had second thoughts to finish it. But santiago should have right then said no mas period.

It's the PATIENCE you need. For example, the guy I study under, he has been involved in boxing for over 30 years, he's an ex pro himself and has all the right knowledge in his head.

The problem is, he has no patience....NONE. He's a screamer, a yeller. He curses you and puts you down. I have learned that with the kids today, that doesn't work. You need to treat each one individually.

When you are in the corner and you see your fighter not doing the things you went over in the gym 1000x's, nothing is more frustrating. I don't know what Santiago told Cotto in the corner, I don't know if he doesn't know much about boxing.

What I do know is that Cotto came out strong for 2 rounds. After that, it wasn't Cotto NOT doing things, it was Manny adapting, or better yet, settling down and letting his natural ability take over.

There's also an old saying in the gym as well.

"You can put the smartest chicken in a cage with the dumbest wolf, the chicken is still going to get eaten"

In this case, the wolf's appetite couldn't be denied.

No doubt, any job that involves teaching, which is essentially what a trainer does, requires a tremendous amount of patience to do well. In any endeavor, great participants very often don't make the best coaches. Teaching is about communication. Some people have all kinds of knowledge in their heads but can't express it in a usable way. Even then, the very best have talents that often can't be explained or transferred to someone else.

In any event, I would still appreciate an answer to my initial question: "What you would have advised your fighter to do against Manny in that fight?"

Just standing up for a friend, that's all. You're accused of being a Cotto "hater" (yawn) by someone who's been here only since September and doesn't know what the **** he is talking about.
