Wrong. Pac is a made man in boxing history. He won 4 lineal titles. No man but him has ever done that. He got 7 divisional titles. No other man ever done that either. I wanna see Pac fight Mr boat buyer and SSM. But if he chose to retire, his place in history is unarguably set.

The problem for Pac is that this comes toward the end of his career.

Please understand what i am saying here:

If they do not fight , the final (two?) years of Pac's career will be sidled by Mayweather talk. Same for Mayweather. At this point, they are casting huge shadows on each other. Floyd is perceived as the best Pac can face (and vice versa). It's hard for me to think of a "high ATG" who did not face the very best in his era. Ali fought Frazier and Foreman. Even with Frazier on his resume, would Ali's legacy be the same without the Foreman win?

So, for the next few years - and as Pac heads towards retirement - the objective folks (writers, media, mainstream, etc) will wonder if Pac could beat Mayweather. You can't leave your biggest challenge unanswered. Isn't that what many fans have wanted from FM? SRL didn't leave any of those questions on the table.

IMO, if this fight didn't happen, it would tarnish BOTH guys.

Manny should fight Mosley and retire....

if he beats Mosley it'll elevate Pac's resume higher than PBF's.

Pac wasn't even supposed to be in this level right now. After he beat Marquez for his 4th World title and beating the ATG's of Mexico, he was already considered a great fighter.

Pac could retire tomorrow and still be considered one of the greatest fighters to lace them up.

not really pac has already done a lot,but obviously a win willdo a lot more for his legacy. for floyd to match him he needs to win a title at midleweight, you cant get to where pac is with one performance, that would be the floyd ***** way.

Since when are we counting the IBO and international titles?
And Pac has not won 4 lineal titles.

That is true, but there will always be a gap where Pac retired rather than make the biggest fight in boxing history.
