Im not saying Floyds talent and skill are not worthy of making this fight, only that he lets the other fighters around him do all the heavy lifting and than he reaps the benefits. He should have been stepping up for awhile now, like all the other top welters. Thats all Im saying.
Does he deserve Pac, do you still want the fight made.

It's an interesting point. I would love to see Pacquiao-Mayweather, but other top welterweight deserve a crack at Pacquiao just as much or even more.
Maybe they should do it the old fashioned way and have all of the top fighters at 147 fight.Comment

I agree that the fans deserve an event like Pac vs Floyd. But wouldn't it be even bigger if Floyd actually beat a top welterweight himself first?Well i think the fans deserve this fight, Not often do we get two fighters who can compete at the same level, Our era has been so unlucky compare to the 80's or 70's who had 4 or 5 great fighters at the same level in the same division.
Our era is the opposite but with Mayweather and pacqiuao around and doing great it gives us something to hope, talk and look forward to. Its the fan that deserve this fight.
I just can't understand why Mayweather fans wouldn't want him to have Shanes strap before fighting Manny. How can beating the top welterweight NOT add more legitimacy and excitement to this showdown?Comment

Believe me when I say this, as a Mayweather fan I want nothing more for the guy to get the respect he rightfully deserves. 38 year old Shane isn't gonna cut it. Unless Shane beat a young lion in Berto, then people can't say crap. Then again, I hope Mayweather doesn't retire after facing Paquiao.I agree that the fans deserve an event like Pac vs Floyd. I was just thinking how much I'd like to see a welterweight tournament. I just dont think Floyd would go along with it. Not trying to sound like a hater, but he'd just say he was the best and didn't need to prove anything. Every other top fighter at 147 is fighting the best around them. I just think Floyd should be held to that same standard considering the money he makes.Comment

Shane is the best welter until somebody beats him. He beaten the man who beat the man. People will criticize Floyd regardless, we've talked about that before. But its hard not to accept a win over the very best no matter if they're 38 or 28.Comment

I'd love to see one in every division, but I think the money needed to pull one off at 147 would be astronomical. I heard the budget for the Super Six was 40-50 million, and that was with fighters who aren't as well paid or as well known as those competing at 147.I was just thinking how much I'd like to see a welterweight tournament. HBO would also likely spend money left and right on 24/7s and other promotional endeavors.Comment

They know Pac clowned...they are afraid of Floyd...this thread says they dont want Floyd to fight Pac.People have lost their minds. Of course Mayweather deserves it.
In big letters so you all understand:
Floyd and Manny are the two best fighters on earth. They are both extremely accomplished and amazingly enough, they are both in their primes. The odds that you'll be able to watch another 1 vs. 2 matchup in the next 20 years is slim to none. Demand this fight. If you don't, you're afraid of something.

You're probably right about the money it would take. Lot of stars at 47 compared to 68.I'd love to see one in every division, but I think the money needed to pull one off at 147 would be astronomical.
