The people who post here aren't an accurate reflection of how much demand for a rematch there is.
The 350 000 PPV buys speak for themselves.
If there was a rematch I would definitely pay to see it but that doesn't mean that there really needs to be one. The fight was competitive but Morales was in control throughout most of the fight. Pacquiao didn't do much damage to Morales that past opponents have done either. It's not really hard to bust Morales face up but he looked very clean after the Pacquiao fight and it wasn't the gloves either because Barrera used the same gloves in thier 3rd fight and was able to bust Morales up.
I am NO Pac fan. I was rooting for a Morales victory that night.
I'm only telling you what I saw at the weigh in, it was very su****ious. From Morales weigh in to the photo-op after the weigh in (Morales not getting on the scale with Pac).
They both came into the fight on Saturday weighing about 139/140 so I don't think Morales not being able to make weight is that big a deal seeing as how they were pretty much the same weight on fight night. But a lot of money is at stake in these fights going ahead, if he were to not make weight the day before the fight a lot of people would be out some major $$$$$, promoter, HBO etc.
All I was pointing out was that Morales can't make 130 anymore, that opinion is based strictly on what I saw that friday afternoon at the weigh in.
Never did I say that was the reason Pac lost the fight, where the hell did anyone come with that assumption anyway?
The subject of this thread was Morales moving up to 135 and my post was about how he can't make 130 anymore, nowhere did I say that's the reason Pac lost.
Also, why would it be far fetched to think Arum would fix the scales? HE WAS ALREADY CAUGHT DOING IT FOR THE MOSLEY/DLH fight!
Morales can comfortably move up, he's earned it. He fought everyone there was to fight and the rematch with Pacquiao would be a loose loose situation for him as he already proved his point last month. It was a clear cut decisive victory.
He doesn't have to worry about Castillo cuz the latter would be moving up to 140 after the Corrales fight. He'll be competitive at 135, he had the size advantage at 126 and 130 so it compensates. Best of luck in his future matches.
i agree, there's nothing left to prove for morales in this division. move up, and look for greener pastures
To be honest, I think I'll take a vacation from Barrera-Morales-Pacquiao mixup for now. I wanna see them fight other people, then off to the superfights again. Who knows, maybe an upset is on it's way.

u mean u wanna see pac fight other guys then them
cuz u dont want him to loose again
Bozo, you need to watch the fight again, honestly. Manny wasn't humiliated, by any means, but he was soundly outboxed throughout the fight. And the cut itself was a direct result of his frustration at not being able to tag Morales like he wanted. He lunged in frustration, trying to get in quick land a big shot, and bumped heads in the process. Nobody's saying that it wasn't a good fight, or that Manny gave a poor performance (well, at least I'm not). It's just that he isn't quite in the same class as Morales, as a boxer. He's not miles below him, just a few yards. And until Manny's actual boxing skills are on par with Morales (and they probably never will be...he'll need a few years, and Morales will most likely be in a higher weight class, or retired by then), he won't really stand a legitimate chance at a win. He'll have a puncher's chance, but considering Erik's chin, even that chance is extremely small.
And seriously, watch the fight again. Watch how Manny gets rattled and runs across the ring when Morales puts serious offensive pressure on him. That's just a sign of inexperience. Nothing to be ashamed of, everyone has to learn. And up until now, Manny's fast hands and hard left have been enough for him, but he's competing at the highest levels in his division now, and can't expect to beat someone who has the experience, skill and chin to take away the advantages of Manny's speed and power. And all the Pacman fans should consider themselves lucky that Manny didn't get that rematch with Marquez. Marquez hits harder than Morales, is a far better counterpuncher, at least his equal as a boxer, and would probably have KO'd or TKO'd Manny in a rematch, in mid or late rounds. That sort of loss would've been far more difficult to come back from than a decision loss to Morales.
you know you can be a damn-good scriptwriter, as if every move of a boxer during a fight, you can say as if you read their mind! and i've never seen one as good at you!
