  • Morales moving up? Pacquiao rematch off?

I have heard that Eric Morales is looking to move up to the Lightweight division and challenge the Castillo-Corrales winner. I would be very disappointed as a Pacquiao fan because I am looking forward to the rematch and doing that would be ****** for Morales. First off, Jose Luis Castillo and Diego Corrales would both starch the smaller Morales. If you've seen Gatti-Gamache, you know what I mean. Number 2, Pacquiao deserves the rematch because the first fight was very close and a rematch without amateur gloves is the only way to settle the issue.

I don't think Morales can make 130 much longer. He had to strip down to make weight for the Pacquiao fight. Besides that I think Morales has proven that he is simply better than Pacquiao. The fight was competitive but a clear cut win for Morales and everyone can see that.

Castillo has said he's moving up no matter what happens with Corrales - so Morales might not get the chance to fight him. I can see why people are demanding a Pacquiao rematch but I think Morales should be forgiven if he denies him the opportunity because he is moving up for an even bigger challenge - and fighting Corrales is huge

        Morales cannot make 130 anymore.
I was at the Morales/Pacman weigh in.
About an hour before it officially started, Morales came out and stripped down naked (with a blanket in front of him) and stepped on the scale to check his weight, then quickly left.
He looked VERY skinny, he looked like he just got out of a concentration camp, skin and bones.
When he came out with Pacman for the official weigh in, he stepped on the scale, then very quickly stepped off, they announced him at 130 lbs. Pacman on the other hand stood on the scale and flexed his muscles posing for the cameras for awhile.
Then they did the photo-op for the press (both fighters together holding their fists up), Pac got on the scale to pose beside Morales, but Morales didn't get on the scale, why? He probably didn't make weight. My friend then told me that he thinks Morales came out early to check on his weight AND to time the scale, by that he meant that Morales could gauge the scale for how long it took to reach 130 lbs so that he could step off quickly before his weight went over, I told him I think that it's a little far fetched, but then when I saw that he wouldn't get on the scale with Pac for the photo-op I knew something wasn't right.
Arum's already been caught messing with the scales (Mosely/DLH).
I'm convinced Morales weighed more than 130 lbs at the weigh in, things seemed kind of fishy.

Morales can comfortably move up, he's earned it. He fought everyone there was to fight and the rematch with Pacquiao would be a loose loose situation for him as he already proved his point last month. It was a clear cut decisive victory.

He doesn't have to worry about Castillo cuz the latter would be moving up to 140 after the Corrales fight. He'll be competitive at 135, he had the size advantage at 126 and 130 so it compensates. Best of luck in his future matches.

I will be disapointed if there's no rematch.

I was at the fight as well, and if Morales winning 115-113 in a fight where Manny couldn't see out of one eye for half the fight leads people to say it was a decisive fight, I can't agree with that at all.

Morales definitly edged the fight out, but it was close enough there should be a rematch.

It almost sounds like Pacquiao is getting burned if Morales moves up, because Barrera has stated several times he's not interested in fighting Manny again because "If he wins people will just say it was Morlaes softened him up".

Manny will beed to rest until May with that cut, and will most likely fight a tune up in July.

After that, I hope he gets either Barrera or Morales again.

Hey guys - I agree, Morales has nothing to prove to Pac - Pac should go down to 126 and get his rematch with Marquez. Morales is a skillful fighter - I think he'll do very well @ 135.

Since when did a "clear cut" victory deny a great fighter the right to a rematch? A lot of people demand a Barrera - Pac rematch, and that fight was far more lopsided than Pac - Morales. If that's the standard we're using, might as well say Leonard didn't deserve a rematch against Duran, or Holyfield didn't deserve a rematch against Bowe. These are two great fighters at the top of their games - I think Pac will stand a puncher's chance in any fight, he learns some defense, he's got a shot at Morales. He went the full 12 and lost a close decision, and had Morales hurt at the end. How is another fight lose - lose? I think their last fight brought in more money than any featherweight fight in history - and this would be a better matchup than if Morales moves up in weight

These Pacmania fans are too much - get over it already. For you satisfaction and amusement we can all agree to say that PacMan WON - will that make you feel better. How about it guys - maybe then they'd stop it with the nonsense.
