Yes, Cotto had childhood obesity, that's what brought him to boxing so he can exrcise more. However in 1993 he was an amateur and fought Calderon in the light flyweigt division. Then his body started to grow and his last participation as an amateur (2000 summer olympics) was at 140 lbs. The statement from Lampley is not true at all.

Come on, back then fighters would fight hundreds of fights most of which would go 15 brutal rounds....did Roberto Duran retire after getting bombed by Tommy Hearns in the early rounds?.....fighters today are too babied IMO

I agree with this man. Maybe not to the extreme of retiring after the Margo fight but in the sense that if he lose badly to Pacquio that is what I expect, he shold seriously consider walk away.

Cotto its not the same, I a see things that other dont see or dont want to see, Margarito damaged Cotto. period. Some fighters and their fellow only really that the boxer is not longer the same in the hard way. Thats is exactly what is awaiting to Cotto.

what's up with these people saying Cotto has to retire if he loses to Pac? Ali lost 5 times, did that stop him from becoming the best HW fighter of all times?

There is no shame in losing to a fighter like Pac (who is a future HOF).

Gomez took a beating from Sanchez (as well from Lockridge and Nelson), that didn't stop him from becoming of the best of all times.

He's no quitter, he's going to continue until he can't take it anymore.

It is not that we are so emotional and it has not been only the Cotto stans that has have expose you with your pathetic theory of the former 106lbs. If you don't beleive me look at the responses on this thread to your post from everybody. You have been exposed over and over again.

We all know that Cotto will be heavier but Pacman has a great chance of winning becaiuse of other advantages that he has against Cotto. We all know your stans about "Cotto being to big, and how he shouldn't lose to a former 106lbs and Cotto would walk thru Pacman's punches" etc.....

But you know what is "SHAMEFUL"? People like you posting here with so many pathetic stans and lack of credibility and I dont want you, to beleive me, that's why I have brought several of your own past post contradicting yourself, to expose you again.
lol I love it when cotto stans try and prove me wrong...

What is it Pullcounter??? Either Cotto is too big and should not lose to a former 106 lbs (theory on which you have been exposed already) or is Pacman going to beat Cotto with his boxing skills and speed. You can't have it both ways.
you need to read my posts a little more closely... there is no incongruency or incoherency in my thought process.

I've said it before and I've said it again and again and again...

SCENARIO #1: If Cotto imposes his size advantage he should win under 6 rounds,

SCENARIO #2: HOWEVER if he doesn't hurt pac badly by then or hasn't KOed pac, then cotto will get beat up because cotto will gas and pac only gets stronger.

SCENARIO #3: BUT if cotto tries to get cute w/ pac by boxing and counterpunching, in other words if cotto waits on pac, pac speed will be too much for cotto and cotto will get sliced up.

I personally believe that scenario #1 will happen, but if cotto doesn't follow "the gameplan" and tries some ****** **** thinking he can hang with pac's speed, he will get beat up.

                      comprende?

IF YOU ASK ME YOU CONTINUE TO BE PATHETIC, EXPOSED AND YOU HAVE JUST LOST YOUR CREDIBILTY (IF ANY) IN THIS FORUM.

IT'S NOT THAT WE ARE EMOTIONAL, IT'S THAT MOST OF US HERE, WHETHER WE ARE FROM COTTO'S STANS OR NOT, ARE MORE INTELLIGENT THAN POSTERS LIKE YOU!!!!!!!
                      Lols...

                      1) I don't give a ****... you guys think I'm some kinda hater... I'm not. In fact I defend cotto a lot! especially when people say cotto is shot or ruined because of the margo fight. I also am very vehement that cotto simply fought the wrong fight against margo and can win the rematch if he implements a few adjustments. I also am very forceful in believing that cotto beat clottey where a hater would say cotto lost that fight. So which is it? Am I a hater or am I a hugger or am I actually the only impartial mutha****er on these boards?

                      2) that's what I'm talking about... you cotto stans are too emotional... you don't think with your brain, you feel with your heart. If a cotto stan admitted that cotto is not invincible and that plainly acknowledged cotto's weaknesses, I would say that stan is thinking with his brain.
