I laugh at the ****s that say Calzaghe proved himself.

He beat a 43 year old Bernard Hopkins by split decision.
He beat a 39 year old Roy Jones by unanimous decision.

He was put on his ass in the 1st round of both fights.

If this proves anything, it is that Calzaghe would of been proved average if he had actually fought the best in his prime.

Calzaghe fought an almost prime Hopkins. I would say Calzaghe was actually more out of prime than Hopkins and yet he still posted convincing scores

        Haha. Americans.

        Calzaghe > North American fighters.

Some of them fights you've highlighted are amongst the worst decisions in Boxing history.

Bottom line the only SMW of any standard that Calzaghe didn't fight was Thomas Tate (pulled out injured, replaced by Pudwill) Ottke, (wouldn't fight anyone outside Germany) , Beyer (see ottke) and Echols.

You can make a case for Mundine too and maybe Danny Green but neither where anything other than Contenders.

John is Mexican, Casamayor is Cuban.

In Europe, decisions are based on fighter's hometowns.

He was 36, which if I did the math correctly, was 7 years younger than Hopkins.

If he was so old, why was he fighting at all? To fool the public into believing he was great? So that 50 years from now people will look at his resume and say "Damn, he beat Hopkins and RJJ?"?

You should really get over the whole "Why doesn't Slappy get any respect angle?" Calzaghe will never get respect because he fought hometown bums and only "stepped up" in his mid 30s vs. two guys that were 10 years past the time Calzaghe should have fought them.

If Mayweather, with a resume of Corrales, Castillo 2x, DLH, Hatton, and Marquez, gets zero credit, do you really think a bum filled resume like Calzaghe deserves any credit?
