For those who think Chad Dawson beat Glen Johnson in the first fight........

I had Johnson winning the first fight by a couple of points. It wasnt a robbery to give it to Dawson but the scorecards - all three were 8-4 for Dawson - were a bit excessive.

Some people need to learn the definition of "roberry". A robbery occurs when a fighter completely dominates a fight and then gets done on the cards. Like Lennox-Holyfield or Roy at the Olympics. Not Froch-Dirrell or Dawson-Johnson.

Those numbers aren't an exact science. Maybe Johnson landed a bunch of punches in the later rounds to even up the compubox numbers but you can't get more than a 10-9 round

Another thing too, Dawson only wants to go after big names even if they've got one foot in retirement. I've got no problem with a Dawson-Hopkins fight, and I want to see it too if Dawson gets by Johnson this Saturday. But Chad won't ever fight Cloud or Pascal unless HBO lays their foot down with him. Johnson on the other hand will take on all comers. You can say it's just because he has to because of his position in the sport. But it's so much easier for me to root for a guy like that than somebody with a primadonna attitude. Dawson isn't as bad as some fighters where that is concerned though like Berto and Juan Ma. And he is better than those guys. But the criticism he gets for not ever fighting someone in his age group are gonna stick unless he fights guys like Cleverly or Cloud.

Gonzalez and Woods to name a few. Pascal only lost to Froch who is trash to me. Diacounu is overrated and backed out a Dawson fight two weeks before it was about to happen.

So basically he would have fought Diacounu already. Plus Cloud would've been his next fight if he would have took the undercard spot live on HBO.

please spare me not a robbery by any means. its called a close fight. crybaby johnson must forget that the first 6 rounds of the fight, in which he got swept, count on the scorecards.

I agree. With all due respect, i think anyone who thinks that fight was a robbery either has some kind of agenda against Dawson, or simply doesn't know boxing or how it works. What is in their head, is the big rounds that Johnson had, not the more rounds that Dawson won when he boxed Johnson and gave him angles. I can't wait until saturday, when its clear who the better fighter is.

Gary Shaw probably had some kind of shady stipulation on that deal with Cloud fighting on HBO though. Look at how Shaw screwed over Donaire. You can't pass judgement on a fighter when he turns down an undercard fight because there may have been a reason. Cloud shot himself in the foot by being inactive, but he thought there was a slight chance that Dawson was gonna fight him at the time he was the mandatory.

Dawson is the fighter with the HBO contract, so even if Johnson wins this fight I don't know how much generosity they will show him. Of course they did good when it came to basically forcing Dawson to take the fight. So maybe HBO will embrace Johnson if he happens to win this fight. I just can't understand why the networks wouldn't pick up a Johnson-Adamek fight.

Dawson did enough in the first half and came back in the championship rounds, he won it. Scores were too wide and that's why people think it was a robbery.
