Ok it benefited him. Hopkins didn't win cuz of his size and his ability and skills. Oh no he won cuz Tito could not benefit from having tape on his knuckle. Again great argument you making a great point. Since Floyd does not put tape on his knuckles he shouldn't fight the best. I don't know what I was thinking... I see now why Floyd is a cherrypicker. Cuz he does not have tape on knuckles unlike Tito

Floyd's a chess player in the ring, Al Haymon, Floyd and Leonard Ellerbe are chess players outside of the ring. Floyd is about his business and money is obivously very important to the man. It's what'll helps support his true legacy after he'd done in the ring, his FAMILY. Luckily for boxing fans, all megafights = money= legacy. Listen, never pin yourself in a corner if you don't have to and always allow for as many options to be open as possible. Shane's desperate, if you minimize his value, negotiations run smoother in Floyd's favor. If Arum acts a fool during negotiations, Shane's available for business. Chess, not checkers. Remember, Both Pac and Ricky used Floyd's name at the bargaining table when the man had been retired for over a year for negotiation purposes. If that isn't power, I don't know what is.

My point was it helped him in other fights, I just dont think that little skinny Tito had power like that without his wraps. Look at the Joppy fight everything he hit Joppy with affected him, even punches that didnt look hard.

Floyd will gain respect if he fights real welterweights no matter what the outcome is.
baldomir, judah, and de la hoya weren't real welterweights when floyd fought them.

are you saying these fighters were not highly ranked at 147 and 154 when floyd fought them.

People that dont have anything to lose will always throw caution to the wind. Floyd stands to lose millions if he doesnt pick and chose his opponents carefully. Any fan can talk **** because they dont have anything to lose. Just like most fans claim to love fighters that are warriors in the ring, then forget about them or talk down on them when they began to suffer the ill effects of standing toe to toe with any and everyone.

I can see why he's so cautious, hell PWill wants to fight everyone and people still find a reason to complain about him. All he has to do is beat the winner of Pac/Cotto and he'll look like a business whiz.

I disagree Tito had power. Also Joppy fought ******ly. He didn't cover his face at all against Tito. Tito was just teeing off. But, if you feel the tape on the knuckle benefited him that is fine. Tito fought the best and if you the only reason he did that was cuz he had tape on his knucles that is fine. But, you understood what my point was about Floyd fight the best.

I have no problem with Floyd last 3 opponents. I have no problem if Floyd fights for the money. That is fine with me. More power to him for that. He don't have to figh the best for all I care. But, as long as he is fighting for the money and not fighting the best out there. Nobody can claim he is the best. He has to prove he is the best by beating the best. I don't see why his fans don't see that? Why his fans defend him? Nobody in the world won't take the money. However, if you take the money cant be called the best. Feel me?

Were there better fighters at 147 and 154 than Baldomir, Judah, and Oscar?

so know you skip past the objective argument of floyd fighting a real welterweight before and want to move into the subjective argument of who was better at the time.

newsflash at the time floyd beat judah, baldomir, and de la hoya they were all champions or former champions and this is floyds 2nd,3rd, and 4th fight at a higher weight.

you forget that judah was the undisputed champ at 147 not that cheater margarito

team gayweather ain't chess players... they are a bunch of theives. the only reason they got clout is because of floyd's boxing skills and HBO put too much money in promoting floyd that they lose their investment if he retires again.

Everyones beaten Judah and Baldy, they aren't that great.
Point is they were once on the list of ''Floyd why don't you fight a legit welterweight in.....''

I'd go into it some more but I'm not really ''here'' at the moment.
