LOL didn't Mosley go on to fight Oscar De La Hoya twice, fight Vernon Forrest and Winky Wright...but he's afraid of Floyd? Also ask yourself this, do you really think Oscar was going to let Shane get a crack at Floyd before he did? You don't think Floyd wanted Oscar all along considering that would be his biggest payday?

Mosley right now is considered the #1 WW champ and would make for the toughest challenge at WW for Floyd to date, what sense does it make for Floyd to say, "Ahh well he had his chance in 1999". How is this a bad look for Floyd for him to take the fight?
Afraid? No. Shane knows he can't handle a slick boxer like Floyd so instead opted for other fighters he thought he could beat. Not only that but he cheated and used EPO and steroids so that should tell you someones character and mindset.

I think you meant for Floyd to NOT take the fight. And I agree. Especially when usually it's followed up with Floyd talking about Bob Arum not wanting to do business with him therefore he wont fight Cotto or Pacquiao either. Then what is he left with but to make another Marquez-esque fight with a smaller fighter that will make him look like an even bigger chump or to jump another weight division where he can continue to ***** about people just praying for his downfall because he has to fight these bigger monsters.

Shane wanted 10 million in 1999 to fight Floyd, that tells me he didnt want the fight.
Shane did not want to fight in Nov. It was known before Floyd even offeredt that Shane was going to take the rest of the year off. He told Floyd not November lets do it in January. Why didn't Floyd take the fight in January?

Hell, Floyd didn't lie with the "you pray on my downfall' statement. Boxingscene is full on 'boxing fans' that make posts about a fighterthey dislike (Mayweather), more so than fighters they actually follow, even when their fav is scheduled to fight soon. When Floyd runs through whatever laundry list of fighters that folks chat about-Shane, Cotto, Pac, everybody is going to all of a sudden turn to PWill when they truthfully pray for him to lose also. Next thing you know, Floyd'll be ducking Andre Berto and or Tim Bradley in these guys eyes. Damn, Floyd just fought a little over a month ago and he is certainly past the 4 fight per years stage. If Floyd didn't wait to see what happens on Nov 14 he'd be a fool and the folks that crucify him know it. Floyd makes a fight with Shane now and they'll say that he's ducking the Nov 14 winner. Damned if you do....

I think he just thinks if he gets an 0 that is a big dent on his legacy .I would like to see Mayweather doing something similar to Hopkins..Look at the boxrec p4p ever ratings .Hopkins 5th ,Where would you's rank Maywearther now or if he stayed around for another decade and fought the best ?

At one point Zab Judah, Baldomire, Hatton and Gatti were on the list.
Everyones beaten Judah and Baldy, they aren't that great.

Who cares when Shane wanted to fight, if you can fight Floyd then you fight Floyd on whatever terms, but you dont say you have a toothache and want to take a family vacation, that can wait. Obviously his wife at the time had more influence on him and called the shots. Explain why Shane needed 10 million in 1999 to fight Floyd, he didnt want the fight, but now that he sees it as his biggest payday and all roads lead through Floyd, he wants the fight, who wouldnt? Floyd is the top dog, dogs dont bark at parked cars, Shane had his chance, he blew it, just chalk it up as a learning experience and do better next time Shane.

Except it was Floyd himself that said he wouldnt wait 4 the nov 14th winner and is going ahead with a fight early 2010 and that Shane Mosley is ruled out as a possible opponent.
