IF this fight happens .......... and PWILL wins.........Cotto has officially ruined Clottey for sure...........
At least he would lose a competitive fight against a monster, and not to a 106lber.

Some of PWill fans are blinded by constant nut hugging. It's simple give Clottey 8 weeks to prepare for the fight and it is sealed/done. All Joshua said was for 5 weeks the money was low and he is right. If they can not pay him more move the fight 8 weeks away and lets get this fight

650K is not a lot since he stands a good chance at losing...and he's knows this. PWill has a lot of advantages...mostly he throws a lot of punches and Clottey does not....let alone the huge reach advantage. Clottey needs more time to prepare...not 5 weeks...this fight should have been made when the PWill vs Pavlik fight was cancelled cuz there was no way Martinez or Dzinziruk would have been available...too many promotional issues...that being said...PWill vs Clottey will probably be moved to January which should make January an exciting month for boxing!

here's some game for you dudes who are sayin' Clottey should take the scrap with 5 weeks to prepare for 650k.......a fight with Cotto is a EVENT.....a big stage......a big name.....and style wise not a big risk!!.....plus the reward for a win over Cotto is more beneficial than a win over a B or C class star!!......a fight with Williams is a GATHERING.....a small stage.......a medium name......and style wise HIGH RISK!!.....the reward for a win over Paul won't make Clottey no EXTRA $$$$......come on man!!.....get real!!......style wise it's a bad match-up and IF I was promoting or runnin' Clottey's bizz.....I wouldn't fight Paul unless it was MANDATORY!!!.....styles make fights!!.....just for the record..... I like Clottey's body attack over Paul's workrate!!......IMO Clottey would whoop his ass!!

650k is probably the second highest payday of his career. Unbelievable. Like I said, it'll be Martinez because this guy is just a clown. Get in the ring, man - you're 0 for your career against elite fighters.
This may sound xenophobic, but that is a problem with these African fighters. Guys like Quartey and Clottey. They go in, fight their own style, never think/believe they've lost, and then have inflated sense of self based on "losing close."

Clottey is coming off a loss and has zero fanbase. Does he understand how much money $650K is?

Paulie Malignaggi made $200K to fight Diaz. Zab fought Spinks in St.Louis for $100K.

I knew there was more to this. Williams team seem to be more intent on claiming that fighters are "ducking" them rather than actually fighting them.

Just last week, after the Pavlik pull out, Williams claimed he had no interest in fighting Clottey because he brought nothing to the table. Now suddenly he lowballs him after Clottey has stopped training just so he can say Clottey is ducking him. Gimmie a break.

***shua's trippin'...who turns down 650k in this economy?

Not only that, he failed in his two championship fights against Tony and Cotto.

Take it where you can Clottey.
