His excuse is charmin soft because he was suppose to be fighting on that date anyways has he really gone to complete **** in 5 days.

He does not want to catch a loss for $650k plain and simple, he and his whole team have to know Williams is basically the worst possible match-up for him just look at how they fight it is plain as day.

$650k is an excellent payday. Not to mention the exposure on HBO. Clottey should take the fight.

He don't want no part of P-Will. He shouldn't even use the money as an excuse. He just admit he made less than 650k to fight Cotto. Then why would he expect to get more after a loss? It doesn't work like that and he knows it. Clottey usually trains for 6 weeks. If he wants Williams sooo bad, then 5 shouldn't make that big of a difference.

It is nice to know that Clottey is in a good enough finacial position to be turning down $650K offers though, good for him.

The guy thinks he is really Al Haymon.

Damn, must be a miserable existence.

I dont see how he would expect to make more for Williams then he did for Cotto. Easy win for Williams IMO. Dont really want to see this fight. Clottey doesn't do enough to win.

Straight up duck, I can't believe some of the excuses that ppl are coming up with. He don't want to get his ass whooped for $650. If they double that **** watch how close he jump in the ring. Its all over money, just like Pbf.

Ok don't get me wrong I like PWill, but I don't regard him to be as great as some other people here do, and that also doesn't mean I won't in the future.
Seriously speaking, if some of you guys think Pwill can defeat anyone in the WW division and Clottey thinks he's as dangerous and talented as you guys do, why shouldn't he have the time he want's to train for this fight. He's not gonna be fighting some nobody this guy is a favorite of many here and regarded as a p4p top 10 by some. The professional thing to do is to give yourself the best chance by properly preparing for the task, not meeting a date to please fans or anyone else who's gonna earn a buck putting this **** together.
