nard's 160 lb reign was a farce, since he was a scaled down lightheavy...everybody he fought at 160 was at least two divisions smaller..
Catchweight of 170, it wasn't a scheduled LHW bout. It was called a catchweight bout at 170, get your facts straight.

Anyways you said three, so who's the third one that moved up two divisions?

      Checkmate.
      lmao
Although to be honest, I never said three.

I don't get where you argue that Wright wasn't a LHW fight but concede that Pavlik was. Both Wright and Pavlik were MW's when they moved up to fight Hopkins and both fights took place at a catchweight of 170 lb.

If anything, Hopkins-Wright is more of a LHW fight since B-Hop's magazine title was at stake. Whereas Hopkins-Pavlik was just a regular catchweight fight.

        • none of those selections fit my opinion...i think he is a bit over rated but u cant take nething from him and what he has done. I'm from philly and will not go see his next fight cuz he fightin a bum...plus I've lost some respect for him bcuz he just took the deal that ROy jones has been tryin to get him to take for years....so if cherry picking was a choice I would take that...all the race **** I dont get into at all.

Joppy and Holmes never called out anyone other than... Holmes and Joppy. King stole as much as he could from Showtime in order to build up any sort of interest in their crosstown rivalry. Guess what? The fight never happened, and each remained tucked away in King's stable until he was finally ready to pimp them out.
ok so why did hopkins have to wait around for that...that was late 90's, early 00's...168 was definitely an option at that time...

tito wasnt a smaller guy, he was a huge WW. best weight was 154. are u saying just because he was one weightclass above his best you should dismiss hopkins' win completely? not to mention size clearly didnt matter since hopkins just outclassed him. and the fact that he outboxed him using his speed, something that would be the smaler mans andvantage.. not giving hopkins props for his win is like not giving hagler props for hearns.

also hopkins unified the division, he took all the belts, beat all the contenders.. he didnt cherry pick anything. nobody wanted to fight him for years, once he got his shot thru the tournament to become a mainstream star he took it, and took on all comers as undisputed champion.

saying he doesnt have character is laughable. he turned his life around in prison, one of the hardest workers in the history of the sport. not the most talented guy out there, but became one of the all time greatest MWs thru toughness and hard work. today he gives back to his community aswell.
Very good piont all the way through
