I think Vitali realizes that he dosent have that much time left in his own career so hes trying to cement some sort of legacy by running through all of these undefeated young guys, it has nothing to do with them being American.
My dwindling hope for an American Heavyweight Champ.

Eddie Chambers and Kevin Johnson have no chance against the Klitschkos.
NO chance whatsoever.
Thanks for the memories.Comment

Why are Americans so ethnocentric about this ****?
Quit crying about a by-gone era. Its OVER. Stop focusing on where the guy is from and enjoy them for being great boxers.
In a way its a form of racism imo because the implication is that if its not "American" its not as valuable.
American HW boxing was always a mirage anyways since for a large part of last century Cubans and Russians couldn't compete in the pro's.Comment

How can you be so sure that he wouldnt have beaten all the Americans handily?Comment

They are to boxing what the rotary phone is to modern communications.

Also didn't Ruslan Chagaev beat Felix Savon? He didn't turn out to be a great champion.Last edited by Boxingwizard; 10-25-2009, 08:31 PM.Comment

He's considered one of the best amateurs, but than again a lot of the Cuban amateurs that turned pro didn't all turn out to be great. I think people overrate Russian and Cuban boxers, they got some great boxers, but a lot of Americans are just as skilled and talented. There is a difference between pros and amateurs.

And I'm not saying the Cubans and Russians would've won for sure, but we can't stand here and pretend that Ali and Frazier are the best, when they never fought the worlds best guys.
Maybe they would have, but we'll never know.Comment
