Look, the Prince hype and the show was amazing, but just like Mike Tyson, they were both not elite and it showed when they stepped up to elite level. Barrera was the best Naz faced by far, and he beat him every easily, and all of Tyson's toughest fights, he lost them, and lost them in a very one-sided manner. I'll excuse Danny Williams and Mcbride as he was shot with them, and the Jake Paul circus, but Buster schooled prime Mike as all he needed was not to be scared and a decent jab. Tyson had one style and that was that, he had no variation, no real ring intelligence and that showed in his two losses to Holyfield and his loss to Lewis, as well as of course the Buster fight.

Tyson, like Hamed, looked great in dealing with decent boxers, or boxers well past their best, fat Holmes for example, or a miniature man like Spinks, who actually was not that good anyway crap resume. The hype machine surrounding both was amazing, but both were newhere near elite, and facts are facts, and to the trained eye, watch them and they both have huge limitations

All the excuses that if Mike Tyson had Cousin Tomato his whole career are just that, excuses. Cousin Tomato could not step in and win the fight for him against better boxers. Nash out - His Majesty

I mean he was a hype job. He loved the hype. But he was also legitimate and beat every title holder at featherweight and defended his title over and over.

But just because you've only seen one of his fights because it popped up on YouTube for you doesn't make that his best win. It was a fun fight but then most of his fights were pretty good fun. An entertainer and a very, very legitimate long reigning champion.

He also 'ducked his mandatory' and vacated his belt to fight JMM. And was pretty clearly in poor condition. I'll always argue that as soon as you get in the ring, you've declared yourself fit to fight and the result is the result. But it's hard not to at least acknowledge that the nature of the defeat isn't career defining. We had plenty of evidence on which to define his Hall of Fame career.

Nash back in. It seems you are becoming quite bitter as you age. Im surprised you just spent over 170 words denouncing Mike Tyson and less than 40 words on Naz while commenting on a story about Naseem Hamed. Has Mike done something recently to upset you?

It was a fantastic ride while it lasted until the money made the wheels drop off, he stopped training & every camp became a fat camp.
They did well early on keeping him busy (&fit) knowing his partying ways.

Hamed was a potentially great fighter who settled for being a showman and a good fighter. I have no problem with a boxer getting out of the game. Hamed seems happy and generally healthy (as in his speech patterns, coordination, and that kind of thing) so good for him. But the way he went out, the spectacle followed by a complete blow out loss, seems hollow as a pure spectator.

In other words...if they can't BANG you're not interested. What about Bam Rodriguez? He has good power but isn't a puncher in the same vein as Naz or Inoue but is still a beautiful technical fighter to watch.

He was extremely sloppy, but was quick and had a knockout punch. I saw most of his fights. Kevin Kelly was the only guy of note that he beat. He ducked JM Marquez. Just because he eventually fought Barerra doesn't absolve him. He would have lost to him at any point in his career.

Hamed was great and people forget he jumped up to featherweight if he had won a title at bantamweight world he would have been a legend watched him live and drive to Sheffield to watch him
