Usyk injured recently so I'll give him this one. He's not retiring yet so kabayel, fabio and itauma possible

Boxrec has Wilder #44 ranked heavyweight, that's maybe a "but" harsh but it's not far from reality.

There is no reason to make the fight, and I don't want to hear about "Usyk wants all the big names from his era"

Well drop the titles then and have pointless non title bouts vs Wilder and maybe we can drag Cris Areolla out next?

Itauma, Kabayel and Sanchez are all in title contention and all are far more deserving and interesting fights.

I heard someone say "Usyk doesn't want to leave any questions"

That's nonsense. There is NO question who wins Usyk vs Wilder, nor will there ever be.

Usyk isn't getting any younger, what happens if he retires without fighting Kabayel or Itauma and one of them goes on a 10 year unbeaten run

You don't think Usyk will leave "questions" then? Especially as both of them have attributes we have never seen him against.

        Wilder vs Usyk STINKS.
Agreed...Usyk just wants an EASY payday and this is clearly a mismatch (almost as bad as Joshua vs. Paul)!

He should be fighting Kabayel, Itauma or Wardley instead.

The name wil help his resume when people look back on it even if Wilder is washed. Tyson was just as washed when Lewis fought him. The name on his resume still helps him more than the name not being on it.

He isn't fighting Kabayel or Fabio. They are not big names. Wilder is washed but a bigger name and more will watch it then the other 2. The only other name that he might be motivated to fight is Itauma but really that fight is too early and their paths should not even cross

If this is a warm up before a better fight IN THE SAME YEAR, then I'll not complain.

If it's his only fight of 2026, it's pretty embarrassing and worthy of derision.

Every fight Wilder wins is a fun watching fight. So I always root for wilder.

Since his only path to victory is a wild KO.

If the fight happens in America then its worth it. Financially and entertainment wise.

Now if this fight happens in Saudi Arabia or Europe. Then this makes zero sense beside a name on his resume. Andy Ruiz would had been a big name too since Ruiz was an unified heavyweight during this era.

Usyk's done man. He's at the Canelo stage where he can pick and choose who he wants mostly for the biggest paycheck. Yeah, Wilder's no longer Wilder, but the intrigue of Wilder in the ring vs Usyk is probably enough to make good money. Knowing how diminished Wilder is means Usyk shouldn't have much difficulty dispatching Wilder. Easy fight, easy money. You think he wants motivated killers of the younger crowd such as an Itauma? Usyk isn't looking for that anymore. He's nearly retired, lol.

Itauma will go on to part of the new faces of heavyweight boxing for the new generation. Let Usyk go out in grace at this point and on his terms, lol.
