No Oscar De La Hoya did not mention Errol Spence, Jr and Jermell Charlo as potential opponents for Vergil Ortiz. If he did then that is proof enough that they are ducking Ennis. They don’t want no smoke with “Boots”.

I hate to tell everyone that as much as I want to see Boots vs Virgil next it's not going to happen. This sport is called PRIZEfighting not fighting. Oscar will not let this happen next and he is right. Virgil is the WBC interim and he will be fighting the winner of Fundora / KEEF next. Oscar wants to get him the belt so if they do fight in 2026 Virgil will be the A side and it will be a huge PPV that Oscar will demand 70%. Plus Oscar will have all the leverage in negotiations because he knows Hearn cannot afford to keep losing money on Boots by fighting bums. Advantage = Oscar! I know you guys don't like A sides and B sides but that is life so deal with it!

Boots better not demand 50/50. Just take 60/40, that will get it done. Dare to be great and bet on yourself and go win the fight.

Ya’ll can’t say Boots is looking for the top guys at 154. If Golden Boy is on bs, then he should target a champion or Bohochuk next. Jermell Charlo is another option.

That’s fine…Canelo was the A side but Bud was the superior fighter. I see this going the same way, and so does Oscar.

True and I don't have a problem with it. That is the way the sport has always been. Boots vs Virgil should've been for belts at 147. They will not fight at 154 for no belts unless Turki-mane swoops in and offers 50 milly!

so without the turki cash where both sides just agree a price we are back to this again LOL

so what contract is eddie going on about? ortiz has just finished his fight yesterday there is no contract to fight ortiz its BS, they have not even started to negotiate for it, the very basic thing like splits have not even been talked about, one side says im the A side etc, the usual crap all the time

lets see what % oscar demands for ortiz, that will be key to the fight, the fight is either going to be made at 50 50 split, 55 45 or 60 40 im sure

let the arguments begin about who deserves what!!!!

on the surface u might think ortiz might deserve a bit more than boots but both of these guys are interim champs, they dont even have a belt at 154 lol

people have anointed them both as the best guys in the division without either of them proving anything whatsoever

if boots does get offered a slightly lower split he should gobble it up right away and make the fight, thats for sure

Yeah, Oscar was doing a lot of two stepping last night. Ortiz seems to wan the fight, but oscar was already alluding to potential barriers to making the fight.

Guys, you are forgetting something. Oscar is using the defacto standard that promoters use: Play hard to get so that the promoter has an edge in negotiations. Did any of you not see that Hearn last night basically said the same thing about having options???? All promoters want any kind of edge and BOTH Oscar and Hearn talked about other options - it is the art of the deal!! It has been this way even back in the King and Arum prime days! Geez.
