If Wilders last fight was anything to go by I'd probably even favour Pereira to plank him
Could Alex Pereira have any real success in boxing?

NO!!! why would anyone think he could be?? there's far better strikers in the UFC than Pereira and even those guys wont be successful in Pro boxing.
Nate Diaz is actually a "good" boxer standard for the UFC, he sparred with Ward, etc... And look what happened to him against Jake Paul.. striking/boxing in the UFC is not the same as in Pro boxing.Last edited by IceTrayDaGang; 10-06-2025, 08:59 AM.Comment

Pereira was the middleweight and then light heavyweight kickboxing champion of the world. He would knock out any version of Nate Diaz inside 3 rounds in a boxing match.
Pereira is probably way too old to start a boxing career but kickboxers have had a much stronger track record making the switch to boxing than guys who came up in MMA. Look at Vitali Klitschko, Chris Algieri, Yoshiki Takei, Tenshin Nasukawa, Sergey Lipinets, Lucia Rijker, etc.Comment

I didnt say Nate was better than Alex... I was using Nate as an example of UFC fighters who fans claims have a good striking game. Once these UFC fighters gets in a ring for a real boxing match against other pro boxers, their boxing skills doesn't shine.

Nate Diaz's primary martial art training is in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, where he has a 3rd degree black belt. He has 12 submission wins against only 5 KO wins, and he has 2 KO losses in MMA versus only 1 submission loss. He is a grappler with decent hands, not a striker.
Pereira is a kickboxer by trade. He started out in amateur boxing with 31 fights, then switched to pro kickboxing where he had 40 pro fights and won two major world championships in two different divisions. He also had 1 pro boxing fight. He didn't start training in grappling until a few weeks before his pro MMA debut.
You're making an absolutely ridiculous comparison.Comment
