Of course kickboxing is not the same as boxing. But pointing out that grapplers who switched to boxing from MMA didn't do well is not a coherent argument against an all time great kickboxer making the transition. We have an established history of kickboxers that have made the transition and done quite well for themselves in boxing.
The fact that Pereira is 38 is a pretty strong argument against him switching to boxing, but pointing out a bunch of Jiu-Jitsu guys and wrestlers that tried it got their asses whooped is a ridiculous comparison. He's not Nate Diaz, Frank Mir, Tyron Woodley, or Ben Askren. He got to where he is by throwing punches and leg kicks.
