I think people should wait till all of the police footage is released. Not sure why people are jumping to conclusions before even seeing the flipping video. But if I am a cop who pulls over 4 guys and there is a gun in view, I do not think it matters what color you are, I am gonna hold my gun on you till it is clear

I would not be surprised if Crawford was followed to the party and at least definitely after the party. These cops knew who he was, and pulled him over....hoping for the worst. They were hoping things would go bad. However, after realizing that he doesn't drink or do drugs....they had to tone things down....but come up with something.... knowing that the driving recklessly angle just wasn't going to be believed.

Before anyone start to dismiss this take. I am a Black man and I have been pulled over by the cops on a bogus infraction more than once . Once they find out from me that I don't drink or do drugs....they try to shift their reasoning for pulling me over in the first place to something else....

I'm not writing that racism doesnt exist in the US (it does). Nor am I writing that this instance was not influenced by race- it may have been. But there is also a chance that it was not.

Everyone I know who has the right to carry concealed weapons will always inform an officer of any weapon they have on them if or when they are pulled over. Maybe that happened, but based on what is written here it did not. Moreover, if what is written here is true, he wasnt held at gun point for a traffic stop- claiming that is disingenuous. He was held at gun point during a traffic stop for having a gun on the floorboard.

Like I wrote, we all know racism is real, but lets wait and see if this is the case. And lets not diminish the problem by being disingenuous or straw manning those who want to hear all the facts.

That’s…entirely possible. I’m tempted to jump on the wagon and just say this is outrageous by the police but who the hell knows? Until they release the footage who knows?

But your first paragraph is perfect in that it highlights just how foggy these situations can be with one as an innocent bystander trying to get a dirty cop convicted.

This is sort like what the fighting game community call “option select”, where one puts themselves in the position (the cops, in this instance) to go on the offensive (paint the picture), and IF it backfires, have several automatic fail safes trigger when it doesn’t play out the way they might’ve originally intended (window tint, ya’ll looking at me funny, badgering, etc.).

I’m not saying that’s what necessarily happened, though. It just goes to show you that the truth can more than half the time be very muddled and it’s never one version or the other; usually in an between.

I read the report I do know the details. Looks like you don't. You can't have guns just sitting around on the floor of the car. I think american cops are terrible in general, but this sounds like it was legit.

Why they set up Blacks? Are you kidding? Some people want to kill off Blacks just because of the color of their skin.

Note: Crawford was allegedly pulled over for driving recklessly. He doesn't drink or do drugs. Therefore, there's a good chance that he was pulled over with cops hoping that he was violating some law. This brings me to why they set up Blacks.

The government makes millions of dollars pulling over Black and Brown people. It's more expensive for Black and Brown people to contest a charge than it is to pay a fine. Also Black and Brown people are already viewed as guilty before even having a chance to be found not guilty. Therefore Black and Brown people just go ahead and pay the fine.

The government makes millions of dollars in fines off of the backs of Black and Brown people.
