Again, what else is out there for him if not two fights against middleweight titlists? Who is going to make him a significantly higher amount of money than, say, Lara and then Janibek?
We know he's not going to 175.
168 is full of young bucks with no name value like Mbilli, Iglesias, Martinez.
He can't make 154.
So who are these fights going to be against? Canelo rematch? Eubank? Dig up one of the Charlos? Plant? Old man GGG?
If I had to guess he'll probably attempt to pick up a belt at 160 like he did at 154 then he'll probably look to have one more big money fight the following year and retire, if he doesn't just retire before that.
If a Canelo rematch is presented he'll more than likely take that.Comment

Literally anything. He's not having two fights in quick succession in a middleweight tournament nobody cares about that's for certain.

Who said it has to be in quick succession? You know damn well the WBA, WBC, and WBO wouldn't strip him in a billion years. All they'd have to do is pay step aside money to any potential IBF mando and he could continue his 1 fight per year pace for two more years and retire.
f he's fighting his normal (just about) once a year there's even less chance he'd take part in some Middleweight tournament vs guys the casual audience have no clue who they are. I can see him attempting to get a belt there but I'd be surprised if he even took the risk vs Janibek, which I would predict would be a much harder fight than Canelo was with much lower reward financially. Crawford's not going to go for it after the payday he's just had.
Crawford is going to want huge money at this point. If Turki is funding super fights than he'd probably put that kind of money up for Ortiz-Ennis winner (if they fight) at 154 or a Canelo rematch or something along those lines.
Forget Undisputed at 160. Never going to happen.Comment

Even less likely if that's the case.

A Canelo rematch is realistic if he wants it. Or some patsy hometown title defense at 168.
Other than that, I really don't see how anybody else is a bigger fight than Lara. And you could easily set up Adames vs Janibek in the meantime. You're making this out to be a lot harder than it is.Comment
