This is risky for Parker with a potential usyk fight on the lineLast edited by hugh grant; 09-01-2025, 06:16 PM.Comment

He has to fight Moses Itauma and Tyson Fury at least 3 more times. And even if he does that, to complete boxing and leave no doubt, he'd need to win the Tag-Team World Championship. I'm sure it will be a thing soon enough. Nash out - His MajestyComment

You're very confident. You might be right. Bakoke was obviously a myth, Wilder has been done for 3 years and Zhang practically fights in treacle. If Parker had fought and beat any of them 5 years ago it would be something worth celebrating but not now. Wardley is the first live opponent Parker has fought for years and if he lands Parker don't get up....... probably
Even Huni made the count vs Wardley but the U.K ref counted him out cos...reasons!
And Justis didn't even have a full camp or is anywhere near as complete a fighter as The Mighty Oilskin Parker.
Parker beating Wilder, Zhang and Bakole while they were being touted as boogeymen will always be worth celebrating...CHEEEEHOOO!!!Comment

This is a interesting fight and shows Parker is not going to waste his time. Yes, even as an Usyk fan I would rather see Parker wait for an answer than to risk this. But a Parker win here ratchets up the pressure for an Usyk fight in early to mid 2026, and Parker should win this. Wardley has zero to lose. He will get a decent payday, and he would never sniff a shot at Usyk.Comment

Presumably because they want to fight rather than remain inactive, which is a good thing. Plus they can't be sure how things will pan out where the sanctioning bodies are concerned, a bird in the hand and all that.Comment

I didn't necessarily like Chisora's comments about Parker but he was dead right. He doesn't sell. And no-one is putting up their titles for minimal reward.
He might be ranked higher, but there are plenty of fighters ahead of him when it comes to selling tickets and PPVs.Comment

Parker lost to Chisora and Joyce. Went down every time Zhang landed.
Somehow people think he's number 1 contender because he didn't beat DDD and the fight never happened and because he beat Bakole who wasn't even in camp (lol) on 1 days notice! How odd!
This is a solid 50-50.
Wardley showed v Huni he can be easily outboxed, but Parker is chinny, less aggressive than Huni and shop worn.
Parker will try and run for 12... That always makes an interesting fight at least.
Would prefer Itauma v Parker, that would be an utter destructive win for Moses, but this at least is intriguing as puncher v runner.
Would even prefer a rematch with Bakole, but 0% chance he takes with when Bakole is in camp.Last edited by M312; 09-02-2025, 02:19 AM.Comment
