I don't need to give a reason, the fact remains, though, that are a plethora of reasons as to potentially why.

You can't just assert that there wasn't illegal wraps because the punches were taken. That's a fallacious argument and a non argument.

They would investigate the massive incompetence and/or any payments from Margarito to the commission for them to have helped him cheat.

It came out he got permission to use a water IV, which required notification to the testing agency.

He did not violate any rules and he didnt get "caught" using any "masking agents" other than water.

Nah, he got an "exemption" about 3 weeks after the fight happened.

And that was only when the story came to light, about getting caught using an illegal IV, which he did.

"Margarito used loaded gloves vs Cotto" has to take the cake as the most insane myth in the history of sports. I just watched a clip of Jim Lampley on Joe Rogan podcast talking about it like it was an undisputed concrete fact.

You literally can not find even a single soul in the universe accusing Margarito of loading gloves or plaster or anything suspi cious related to gloves or wraps or any equipment what so ever. Not Cotto or anyone associated with Cotto, no one in the commission, no one involved in the promotion or HBO. Not a news article, not a video, not a message board post, not a tweet, not even a youtube comment.... NOTHING. Zero suspi cion what so ever

Then he next fight he gets caught attempting to use loaded gloves vs Mosley and people create this fantastical completely retroactive fairytale about him using loaded gloves against Cotto.

Let's breakdown how Margarito got caught attempting to use loaded gloves vs Mosley. He literally got caught during the first possible procedure. There are multiple procedures before during and after the fight in which loaded gloves would get caught. But somehow people believe Naz im Richardson was the most diligent person in the world and only he could catch it. To believe he got away with using loaded gloves in a fight without getting caught requires the ref and commission all to have conspired with each other on behalf of Margarito and lie at multiple points before during and after the match

Reminder there has never been any investigation what so ever(nor has Cotto ever requested or even mentioned wanting one... hmmm I wonder why) in to Margarito using loaded gloves vs Cotto or in any other actual boxing match. Only his attempt vs Mosley.

Literally the only evidence that anyone had ever even tried to come up with for him using loaded gloves was a picture of Margarito after the fight with some red dye on his wraps(obviously from the red gloves). I guess trying to insinuate that his knuckles are bloody from the plaster lol.

Also to believe Margarito was using loaded gloves means you must believe guys like Clottey and Paul Williams have faces and arms and torsos made of steal because how were they not cut getting hit with plaster? Why is there zero talk about there superhumanly durable skin?

So in closing can we please give up this silly myth in 2025. What is easier to believe?

‐ Commisions and refs from several states and countries all pulled off a massive cover up lasting years and years.
- Joshua Clottey and dozens of other opponents have superhuman skin.
- Naz im Richardson has xray plaster vision.
- That Margarito and his trainers are such masterful cheaters that he pulled it all off with zero susp icion from any opponent then suddenly get caught right away.

that Cotto just got his ass kicked.

Margarito was a very strong fighter in his prime albeit pretty limited… the first time he ever looked world class elite fighter, and very damaging against a very good top fighter — atleast to me — was against Cotto. Suddenly he was on top of the world in 2008… all the mayweather is scared of him made sense.. or why he was avoided..

Then the very next fight he fights an older boxer who got defeated by the guy he just pummeled then he gets caught with them wraps.

so there alone we could make theories..

1. Why would you need a plaster against an older guy that got defeated by the guy you just pummeled brutally?
2. Margarito never looked as damaging against a top fighter than he did against Cotto, so there’s a possibility that the first time he ever used them wraps was against Cotto? And the second time would have been against Mosley?

at the end of the day, his reputation being ruined, him being accused was all their doing… him and his team.. so they can’t play victim when people have their opinions…

we don’t need to look further with his other fights..
