It was Just an easy example suggestion. Of course there are high school club teams. Just like swimming. There's high school swim teams that take players from multiple high-schools and compete in different leagues. In my middle school it was the same for basketball.
Boxing could work in the same context that yes they can be of high school age but its actually the Town, Township, County or even District that is funding the program and schools are not directly financially tied to it.
Also private schools also have their own endowment they could pull from or support other independent boxing programs for their students to go to.
Some YMCA also support basketball leagues for high school kids who didnt make Varsity or JV basketball. Boxing is cheap to house and support for the YMCA.
