Not that there is talk about a next possible matchup, it's that the next matchup is already signed and waiting. It gives no reason to the fighter to perform when he is already locked in for a mega paycheck/showdown with fighter X after the current he's in is over. This causes them to put in mediocre, safety first performances. Look at Haney-Ramirez, Canelo-Scull for how bad it can be.

I know I'm bringing up those again, but they're the most recent heavy example of this **** happening. I don't expect it to end either. Turki's way of promoting upcoming fights is flawed and this is what I'm getting at.
