I actually liked it. It had action while putting a defense clinic.

That DLS fight...seriously why was that just soooooo bad?

Edwin De Los Santos is a explosive and heavy handed fighter. Who can fight his way around the Philly Shell, Santos has the right qualities to catch him with a left hook. Signicant punching power and reach. Stevenson knows he needs to handle fighters of different attributes and skillsets differently. Santos just couldn't cut the ring enough to corner Stevenson. As he is a boxer puncher that primarily counters and then goes for the kill.

Zepeda doesn't have that kind of power, he fights in his own strengths by ring cutting and pressuring with precise high volume punches who brings different issues but just as tough for a fighter who isn't heavy handed aswell. Stevenson just happened to be sharper and more skilled of the two.

Be lying to say every fight of Stevenson will be entertaining, but like Bivol, he shines and is the most exciting when he fights high caliber opponents. Against certain opponents at least.

It was clear that Zepeda is even a lighter puncher than Stevenson. His volume with no power isn't bothering Shakur who was teeing off in between those flurries. Still kudos to him for holding his ground and making it an exciting fight.

I had it even after 8 but just like he faded badly against Farmer, Zepeda faded badly tonight. Good fight though

What I noticed after a few rounds was this - neither guy had enough power to bother the other guy seriously or to have them worry about being knocked out. They both landed a lot of punches but it would seem none of them had any effect.

I wonder how Schofield would go with these two guys? In his last fight he proved that he has serious power. I know ... I know people will say he avoided Shakur by pretending to be sick, but I just cannot help wondering, what if ...
                  Shakur won deal with it

Shakur realized he was in with a bum with NO POWER and got brave.

I ain't reading much into it.

Most of his opponents were terrible.

Of all of his world level opponents, he only stopped Maxi Hughes and Mercito Gesta. Shakur Stevenson beat him and he went the distance with Rene Alvarado, JoJo Diaz, and Tevin Farmer twice.
