  • The scourge of the sanctioning bodies has never been plainer

Jake Paul ranked at cruiserweight by the WBA. Expect a 'regular' or 'interim' belt soon.

Callum Smith sitting on a WBOgus 'interim' waiting for his email belt rather than fight Benavidez.

IBF calling appalling mandatories because there aren't enough elite fighters in any division to contest four sets of competing rankings.

Are you going to keep playing along by using bogus terms like 'unified' and 'undisputed' or are you going to help reclaim our boxing language from these corrupt private businesses run by ignorant charlatans?

On 19th July, Usyk defends the World Heavyweight Championship against his top contender Daniel Dubois. Say the words.

    I'm right there with you.

Even if you're selling a great product, if the guy you've hired to sell the product is a sleezy criminal, people will think twice.

I once saw a ridiculous rationale from Eddie Hearn justifying the sanctioning bodies, saying they create more opportunities for fighters to become 'world' champion.

Imagine a hypothetical where there was a so-called 'undisputed' champion in every weight class and Hearn didn't have a fighter good enough to beat any of them. He would presumably then support another SB being created so his guy could become 'world' champion.

Belts are definitely losing their prestige. In the past the ring would rank a guy like stiverne top 3 simply because he won a vacant belt off of arreola. Now there are guys who have belts and aren't even in the top 10 because they didn't fight anyone to get them. These are positive changes. Tank davis and ilk will still use them to market themselves to the masses of idio-ts but we hsve to tune that out

True. Charles Martin won a vacant "world championship" when his unranked opponent's knee went out.

Ah yes, Czar Glazkov. Brutal knee injury. Ended his career. I think he was going to try a comeback but had a setback to his knee which derailed things.

He also missed out on an Olympic gold when he suffered an elbow injury before his fight against Zhang.

I stopped respecting belts years ago. I think I am the only person that feels, there shouldnt always be a champion. If there's not enough justified talent for you to sanction a championship fight then just leave the belt vacant or leave the current champion alone until you legitimately have a decent challenger. In what world should William scull even fight for a legit championship ?

I like the fact the ring is only on the line when the best fight the best. If there's a fighter ( mexican monster) who is very good but is being avoided a title fight by another sanctioning body ( WBC) then another sanctioning body should offer him a opportunity to fight their champion or for a vacant belt ( IBF).

The rankings are too spread out and talent is too diluted.
