let's keep it real.. his body is not that ruined... bruh made weight with no issue... he even said that jake struggle to make weight and so he's gonna pressure jake from the start and then he gave us that weakazz performance. im starting to think these fights are fixed... there;s no way chavez jr can look that bad. like in the 11th and 12th round he started to turn it up, why couldnt he do that early on? i believe the contract agreement is for chavez to lose all the early rounds and is limited to throwing because there's no way he's that gun-shy against jake paul.. he barely threw any punches at all in the early rounds and he has faced guys like canelo, martinez, etc.

Eh, I get what OP is saying, but there have been other instances in which people started late & became great at something.

Dennis Rodman is a HOF basketball player & started playing at 20

Brock Lesnar took up MMA in his 20s as well.

I think boxing is a unique sport, where there is no real gatekeeping to keep people out, which is one of the reasons that you don't see people in other sports becoming champions.

You literally have to graduate from high-school to play in the NBA, MLB, & NFL. They won't even let you try to make a team if you're an American who didn't go to school.

Crazy thing is there's tons of stories of NBA players going to playgrounds & getting destroyed by regular cats, who for some reason didn't play in school or were kicked out of school

Now wait a minute…Cousy is nearly 100. That’s…a bit of a stretch. lol

PS: The only reason I know who Cousy is because I played NBA Street Volume 2 for dozens and dozens of hours in my teens. That game was the ish.

From margin to center with the argument. The Original post stated "Jake Paul proves boxing is one of the least talented sports I don't care where Chavez is right now, there's no other sport where a youtuber could start in their 20s and beat former champions in that sport...."

I believe my Bob Cousy point proves that to be false. There is a bunch of other nonsense that is being slinged about within the thread that I don't want to get into, but I just wanted to show that the original point was wrong. Now, you argue its a bit of a stretch, but the premise is still the same- evaluating a sport based on how well a past their prime champion performs is asinine.

Sure the Cousy argument can be viewed as absurdism, but as I wrote margin to center- using absurdism to prove the overarching theory to be false, then you can connect the dots back.

Look at the likes of Wilder or AJ. Never laced up a pair of gloves until they were adults and become world champions. You just can't do that in other sports, no chance.

It's simply down to needing less talent to succeed in boxing.

I don't wanna hear boxers are great sportsmen again. Brave? Absolutely. But it's a sport that people can start very late and still beat champions because the standard of sporting ability is so low.

Put it into perspective...do you think you could never dribble a basketball until the age of 21 and then within a few years be able to compete in a game with even the most mediocre retired NBA player? there's no way.

Paul, a guy who never boxed until his 20s just did as well against Chavez as prime Canelo did against a badly weight drained stoner Chavez lollll. Boxing is a joke.

Lmao yes. They used to get dudes from high school straight Into the pro leagues what are you talking about? And it's not even the same this is so ******. Basketball scouts are going to high schools and colleges. It doesnt work like that at all in boxing you fvkcing moron

When he used to be a boxer he fought at about 30 pounds below the weight he made at the weekend. He looked like a guy doing a six week camp for white collar boxing.
