What is the "mania" based on other than a very close fight with Tank and crushing Rolly? Cruz is a natural lightweight who should not be fighting at 140.

His fights are fun to watch. Nobody is confusing him for Naoya Inoue, Bam Rodriguez, Terence Crawford, or Oleksandr Usyk out there.

And he fights pretty decent competition. Cruz vs world title winners:
W vs Francisco Vargas UD 10
L vs Gervonta Davis UD 12 (I had this fight a draw)
W vs Yuriorkis Gamboa TKO 5 (washed)
W vs Rolando Romero TKO 8 (I know he sucks; thank the WBA for his "world title winner" status)
L vs Jose Valenzuela SD 12

He's an aggressive, action fighter willing to challenge himself. So people enjoy his fights. Not everybody can be a P4P great.

Cruz is limited - not Wilder limited, but limited - but exciting. He has a place.

Goes to show that many fight fans want to see exciting fights and be entertained. It's not always about the most skilled fighter but who's willing to give fight fans what they pay to see. Most of the people who pay for fights want to see KO's. Not all fight fans but most...

And that is why I believe Gatti should be in the HOF
There is a place for those type of fighters who brought much more to boxing , even financially

His fights are cool, but he tends to struggle against guys who can box a little. He's not hard to figure out.
