Joe Parker is getting overrated

Unfortunately wilder doesn't have good world level wins to fall back on, I agree with what you are saying though wilder is clearly shot.Comment

Parker has improved a good amount after switching from Barry to Lee. He used to fight scared...his offense consisted of a jab and throw an overhand right and lunge into a clinch. He never looked like he was trying to win fights. Different looking fighter with Lee, he actually tries to inflict some damage and looks more confident in the ring.
He throws more punches now than he used to, and he's in better shape.
Back when he was fighting guys like Junior Fa and Alex Leapai I was ready to give up on him ever beating anybody with a pulse again, let alone top 10 opposition. He was a sluggish, timid fighter with poor punch output and no gas tank for at least three years after the Joshua loss even in fights he won. The Chisora fights are what brought the dog back out of Parker.
I'm not saying he'd beat Usyk or even take 4 rounds off the guy, but I think it's silly to say Parker has not improved as a fighter. Go back and watch him against Fa and Leapai. Fa is a no-hoper and Leapai was 900 years old, and Parker looked considerably worse against them than he did against Zhang, Bakole, or Wilder. Again, you can asterisk those three Parker opponents if you want but they were still better that Junior freaking Fa.
Also, Ruiz wasn't robbed against Parker. Neither fighter really did anything and the hometown fighter got the nod (shocker), Whyte beat him in a close fight off a headbutt and was nearly stopped at the end.
Parker is a solid fighter, nothing exceptional. He's a good athlete, hits hard enough and has a decent chin. He's not overrated, he just has been willing to fight whomever and wins those fights more often than he loses. I'm not even a Parker fan but I feel like I have to check some of these crazy comments in this thread.

I watched Parker vs Ruiz Jr with a room full of new zealanders, they were silent and downcast at the final bell as all thought Ruiz Jr had won but I told them not to worry as it was somewhat close and Parker would be given the crooked win.

Cool story. Parker threw more punches than Ruiz, he also landed more punches 119-107. Rafael had the fight 115-113 for Parker and BLH had the fight 114-114.
First you said it was a "robbery" now you say it was "somewhat close". I saw the fight and thought it could go either way as did most boxing pundits who reported on it.Comment
