  • Sasaki lost his memory. Head hit the canvas really hard. Doesn't remember the fight with Norman.

    According to the english translation:

"Sasaki Tsutomu, who lost by knockout, has lost his memory of the past month and a half. His gym announced that he "hit the back of his head hard" and doesn't even remember the match being decided. He will undergo a re-examination on the 20th"

Yet another serious brain injury on a recent Japanese boxing card.

At least he's not in a coma like Shigeoka or dead like Anaguchi.

This is awful. I actually winced a tad when his head hit the canvas. Hope he pulls through to a full recovery.

He should either consider tightening up his defense or another career, that's if he ever even thinks of fighting again.

Wow very sad if true...hope he makes a full recovery. Having said that, he fought recklessly getting into many unnecessary exchanges with Norman he was NEVER going to win and constantly beckoning him on. I guess you should be careful what you ask for.

Sasaki incredibly flawed technique for a Nipponese

no setup overhand that had him get dropped twice

no after shot defense to go with his jab to the body

I don’t understand. It’s normal in Japanese gyms to pause a sparring to explain to a youngster why he just ate a good shot so he can fix his defensive error
Agreed...the dude thought and fought like he was Inoue when in fact he was just the Walmart version. It'll be interesting to see how he comes back from this but I don't think he has the defence, technique or power to trouble any of the titleholders at Welterweight. Hype ended.

Those Japanese gotta stop fighting like Mexicans and learn some of that filipino boxing style. I respect that warrior stuff but damn.

i like the fact that japanese fighters come to fight but they take major damage during the fight.. like they get punch and keeps coming forward until they get put out or put the other guy out. they really need to start working on not getting hit so often. lots of the recent tragic were all japanese.
